Bought this pulley at rock auto but just want to make sure it's the right pulley to replace my belt tensioner pulley. 20220722_131104.jpg

I can’t tell you if it’s the correct one.
But the tensioner pulley for the 4.0 is reverse thread. Which means you turn it CLOCKWISE to loosen it.

Is that the whole tensioner or just the pulley?

I looked it up on RockAuto.
It says it’s the Upper Idler pulley.

Thanks that's what I thought. I do have two upper pulley one from napa the other 2 is from rockauto. One from napa says it's for belt tensioner but it's the same part number as the ideler #2 both upper. Maybe I can use the the 49127 for the belt tensioner.

Yup. I double checked using Continental's Parts Finder Lookup (I don't always trust the info listed by sellers/suppliers so I like to go straight to the manufacturer when I can).

No, the pulleys for the idlers are different from the tensioner pulley. The #2 idler pulley has an 11mm wide bearing, whereas the tensioner bearing is 17mm wide. The #1 idler pulley has a different offset; you lose thread engagement. Last I heard, Febest was the only company to sell the tensioner pulley, but its a Chinese made part. If the OEM pulleys are not damaged, you can just replace the bearings, including the bearing in the tensioner pulley. See first link above. The second link uses the #2 pulley, which, I point out, has a narrower bearing.

I just went through the same thing you are. Aside from a crap chinese one that I cannot remember the name of there is no exact replacement. That being said you could buy a whole tensioner and swap the pulley...

Tensioners are pricey. A press helps to press off and install the bearing, but is not necessary as the bearings are not as tight as, say, a wheel bearing on hub. The right size socket and a hammer will do.
