Yeah there’s another one for about that but with 10v and no rigid industries fake badge. I was just curious because I usually always go OEM on all my upgrades

For sure and exactly the reason I was hesitant on these. I’m in no rush and hopefully can strike on one when a great deal pops up. Thanks for the input!

When I initially bought my Morimoto amber fogs I debated those as well! I’m looking for SAE compliant again so DD fit the bill on that. Do you have them?

I love them! I ran Caliraised amber pods. Before I had DD. I didn’t like the amber because it gave this “ dark light” you probably know what I mean hahaha! I’m running morimoto HID kit love it!

exactly the case for me regarding the amber fogs even though they do look cool!
Oh nice! I’ll look into all the options again and reassess. Just want something brighter than the stockies

I picked up a rep set for 100 shipped last year , I had the oem led fogs that came with the led headlight on my 2020. The oem led was by far the best output . I also have installed now a oem set from rigid . And again the oem 2020 are better . But as far as the rep and the oem rigid . The rep isn’t near as bright , the rep wouldn’t allow the yellow rigid covers. I bought them to test and sold them for what I picked them up for . I personally support oem for 99% of what I can , if I can find something made in America that’s up to par I’ll by that aswell .

I bought the faux TRD Pro fog lights last year for $75. Mine fits the amber covers just fine.
I ran them for a while until i got my hands on the OEM ones for cheap.
When comparing their light output, it is pretty much the same. Even physically they look the same, it is hard to tell the difference between them.

I went with OEM cause of reliability and i can get it repaired under warranty from my dealer.

I have a set i bought about a year ago or maybe a little longer for $100. They are identical to my friends Pro rigid industries fog lights. You can't tell the difference, same numbers and same brightness. The letters on the rigid industries fake set are not the same color. I bought a set of OEM rigid industries fog light covers from the dealership and the lights have been great. They perform fine. I have heard these are made at the same factory as the rigids who claim they are designed in the US. That may be true but bet they are made in China. IMG_20191030_160200303.jpg

There is absolutely no way these are not garbage.
I'm not shocked the replicas had poorer output than the real deals. While they look the part, they likely do not have the QC behind the OEM units for getting all the placements right. I'd venture to guess they won't last as long. Plus, like as @crashnburn80 always shows the perceived brightness versus quality of optics don't always line up. If these are already dimmer than stock, I'd venture their beam cutoff and throw are off too.

@TwinTaco31719 don't waste your money on replica crap. As has been stated OEM or if you want more output go DD. If I were doing it over, I'm not sure I'd go OEM Pro versus the DD pieces. When I bought mine I hadn't seen the fog thread and wanted the Pro units because I liked now they looked and the only "good" fog lamps were the cubes, which I highly disliked. If I did it now, I don't know what I'd do.

Year and a half and mine are going strong, lighting up these back country dark ass roads coupled with my dideo dynamic LEDs and I'm happy. Works for me, enjoy what ever makes you happy is all I say!

You literally just made a thread about how much better the OEM overlays are than the replica ones, right?

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/black-oem-overlays-vs-the-cheap-ones.689427/

Yet here you advocate knockoffs when other members have had both and reported the originals beat the replicas. I can all but guarantee if @crashnburn80 threw them on his test bench they'd be lousy compared to the originals.

I had a set of $10 LED reverse lights that worked fine for 3 years and now they're all dead. A quality piece wouldn't be dead yet. The OEMs have to live up to a certain quality level, just like any OEM LED part and that longevity is what you're paying for, along with higher quality internals and whatnot.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
Replica lights are just that. Not the real deal. LED lighting has so much to do with the quality of the diode, as well as the reflector. The reflector may be the most important part. I’ll use flashlights for an example here.
    I have a Streamlight PT2L. It has a 350 lumen output.
I have an old Surefire LX2 Lumamax. It has a 200 lumen output.

The Surefire appears to be twice as bright as the Streamlight. The beam pattern is more focused and the reflector does a better job concentrating and efficiently “sending” the light. (I also have a Surefire that has an 1100 lumen output, but the Lumamax is still my go to light, because of how efficiently the light is used.)
Now take into consideration that ten years ago the Lumamax was priced over $200. The Streamlight can be picked up today for $70.
Your money is well spend on the R&D that these companies do to make sure their product is good. Any rip-off company in China can throw some LEDs into a reflective housing. Placing them perfectly, into a reflector that was specifically designed for that diode, to use the light as efficiently as possible, that’s a whole other story.

Save up and get the Rigid. You dropped $35k on your truck. Don’t cheap out on the lights.

That's right I did. However rigid industries lights are not made by Toyota. They are decent lights but not the best. I wasn't going to pay $500 for a set, not all aftermarket parts are bad. The fake light are used by me to this day and are as bright as my friends pro rigid industries, however the real rigid aren't the best either. The cheap overlays were, my fake rigid are not. Your comparing apples to oranges. Knock off trd pro wheels are nice but are they as nice as OEM? There is a difference in some knock off parts but not all. Be fair and try them like I did.

Sorry, I don’t run cheap knockoff parts on my truck, especially those that tried to be passed off as real by putting the manufacturer of the real one on the part.
