Lost the pass side Roof Moulding on the way to my shop this morning. Short tapping on the roof on the freeway. Didn't think much of it until I was washing my truck and noticed it missing. Then it clicked what the tapping was.and I was able to put two & two together., Pretty tough not to see it gone, as it's absence stood out like a sore thumb. Anyone else with a newer truck that has ran into this.?

Replace it with a roof rack.

No, might have to see if dealer or Toyota can replace it for you under warranty. Never personally seen that happen in the 20+ years in the industry unless it was removed prior and not correctly reinstalled. But your vehicle is new.

A quick search told me that it wasn't that uncommon for this to happen on the older models, especially when using Automatic car washes. My truck has always been hand washed.
Will be stopping by Jim Pattison Toyota on way home today. Don't see why it would not be covered under warranty.

Happened to the wife's RAV4 twice. Applied small amount of silicone under strip. Good ever since.

I could see an asshole service advisor giving you shit, but I'd be willing to bet that if you keep it cool and professional they'll sort it out under warranty.

Sevice Rep didn't blink an eye or even question how it came off. When looking at where the roof drip was missing only comment he made was that the retaining clip had not broken off. Apparently it usually breaks off with the Drip Strip when it goes bye-bye. Will be fixed under Warranty later this week.

    Not just the 3rd Gen
Ya Think they would have addressed the problem by now. This has been going on for a number of years on a lot of different models of Toyota cars and trucks
