I'm in the market for a roof rack for my 15 tacoma & pretty much narrowed it down to the uptop overland alpha roof rack.

I believe they have the strongest system on the markey, it is much more of a roof platform than just roof cross bars

What do you want/need to carry? Lots of rack options and huge price range.

Do you have any paint damage on the bumper/grill from the front tie-down?

Actually I don't, but I never have it too tight either. I rely more on the top ones across the roof rack kayak holder. These are pretty tight and never had a problem so far.
