Hey folks, new here and this is my first post. Just got my Taco, back in February. I've been lurking for quite some time now. Saw this mod and wanted to give it a try today. Went to the auto parts store and got all the pieces for around $10. Found these great hose clamps with a key, that allow you to tighten without any tools. You can do it one handed and it helps because there is not a lot of room to move in there. I didn't remove anything on the truck, just ran my arms up there and went to work. Like someone else mentioned, let the truck cool down for an hour or two or you will burn your hands/arms. Thanks for the great tips TW!

Did this today. Luckily no rust on the frame. Seems to be working well. TYTE!

I snaked mine through the frame by buying a 3' piece. Works well IMO.fr_1379_size640.jpg

mine seems to have stopped draining. is the little tube connected to something inside its boot? maybe i disconnected it trying to get the heater hose as snug as possible.

Do you feel puffs of air coming out of the hose with AC on? You can reach the other end of the hose if you pull up the carpet in the passenger footwell.

i can feel puffs. and i found the hose under the carpet. i'm guessing that runs all the way up to the evaporator? good to know, i thought i may have disconnected it when i gave it a tug to fit the 5/8s on it.

    1. What naturally happens to the frame under snow, ice, rain etc....seems like this fix only helps those who live in the arid WEST and a small part of the frame.
    2. I had a Ziebart undercoat for the whole frame...my Dad always used Ziebart for his vehicles in Michigan...seemed to work well...I guess I'll see.
