satoshi horn

ok so i did my satoshi this weekend. and i moved my horn down out of the way. but now it sounds really weird. it sounds really low and kinda sounds like a train horn. any body know whats up with that. its not terriable but i like the old sound alot better lol.

I moved mine to a spot just behind my battery...there were already pre drilled holes there and everything,... maybe it sounds different because of the location

You may have the cables connected on backwards. I hit a deer earlier and when I got my truck back from the body shop my horn sounded weird just like you described so I swapped the cables around and that fixed it. I don't know if the position of the cables really matter but it fixed my problem so...... yeah. Give it a try.

 

You always have the option of installing the horns underneath the radiator. The location would be behind the bumper. Same sound. Great location. Easy mod. The other plug to the right is for the other horn. Use that bolt in the picture.

 

Thats what I did to mine but it sounds horrible in that area so here in the near future, I am going to put them where w8n4mud has them and chris4x4.

I still need to do this.

 

It Appears The Harness Had Enough Slack, But Did You Have to Reroute It?

 

There's enough wire to move it there. The other item attached to the same wire is zip tied to the bar that the horns are bolted onto. I think someone said its the thing that measures the temperature for the display inside.

 

Take the covers off the horns and you'll gain another 10db or so. Also, make sure you get a good ground.

 

so here are some pics of the final product and some of the horn location. i put them in front of the radiator just behind the bumper. played around with the wires today. still the same sound. do you think i may of hit it and it change the sound. i dont know all i know is that it sounds weird :S the fisrt horn pic is from the bottom (under the bumper) looking up. the second is from top looking down. give me some feed back on the grill too gonna get a "TOYOTA" emblem this week i hope. it will be the cherry on top.

thanks for the feed back everyone its nice to hear, it was way more work then i thought it would be lol. the light bar is actually my creation i just got the design from all the pictures on here of the avid bar. yeah i painted the rad black just a reflection im guessing. thanks for the link im sure i will be doing that for sure. my emblem comes in saturday i hope. thanks again

 

Finally relocated them behind the bumper and they sound great now!!! Word of advice, "do not" relocate them under the hood behind the battery!!!
