Here’s what I did to get the most secure cover and a rack to hold everything I needed. My rack and tent come off my truck together in 5 minutes by unscrewing 4 bolts

Kbvoodoo and retrax cover. Retractable, secure and can still haul decent loads.

Yup, you can do 1 on each side if you get the bike mount brackets and obviously the hitch is open you can do a mount there too with a bike rack set up

Oh that is absolutely perfect!!! I'm getting tons of great ideas. The truck is one week old and already have ton$ of ideas. I'm trying to do what I do with woodworking and wait until I need/know what I need to buy before buying. Grabbing tons of ideas though

TW is great for gathering ideas and research. If you wood work I made this drawer that goes in and out of my truck bed for camping. Like a chuck box, just fits under my cover. This is my old rack and RTT set up

Looks great!! That was actually one of the things I was considering. Feel much more comfortable doing that than mod'ing the truck right now.

Does the tonneau cover open up at all with the RTT installed, or do you just open from the tailgate and crawl inside to put stuff in the back?

As I said in that post I did not go that route. Though I liked it a lot. I went with a full GoFastCamper instead. That said I really really doubt that would lift with 150lb tent on the back

Saw your rig on Overland Bound. Love the bed storage solution, something I would definitely like to add. Great work!

Which height rack is that? It looks like a 14" if I had to guess. Would you buy the same height if you had to buy again?

It's the mid size and yeah I would, just not in the long bed version. The long bed version is nice to mount more items on the side but I kept wishing I had some space to get into the bed sometimes

I’ve already chosen a 55” tent and according to KBVoodoo I should go with the long bed rack to support the tent. Plus, I have a tri-fold tonneau cover which wouldn’t be operable with either length rack, right?
