I can't speak personally. I've had buddies get it and say it shifts more smoothly and pulls a bit harder, not to mention better gas mileage. Here are a few members who have bought and reviewed it:

Why choose either? Have both: AFE Stage 2 Si with volant air scoop. Remove the mechanical fan and install the electric fan. Frees up horsepower due to the parasite drag. Get custom cams. Add the TRD or URD blower with stealth pulley for more power. Plenty of choices.

Here's what I added so far for my future TRD blower install

    The mechanical fan is clutched.

Is that still an option, given that the engine has variable valve timing?

What exhaust would be the best for our trucks? Everyone likes to run magnaflow up here. Any advice on that?

a muffler swap is your best bet as far as catback
    grumpy ran
    Headers- $500
    URD TCAI-$200
    URD Y-Pipe-$450
    URD 3" Catback-$500
    UCON-$1500
and picked up about 40 horsepower on his naturally aspirated setup
long tube headers and a muffler swap will open things up a little more maybe 10 hrspwer

What I love are the ones who do redo their intake plumbing, tell you how it is the best thing ever at every opportunity, and then switch back to stock 6 months later. It's like, you weren't trying to convince me, you were trying to convince you ;)
