10-4, its nice knowing someone who has been there and done that to provide info. I would rather spend the nights out on the trails in the back country than in a town.

I explained things really goofy in my last post so I edited it.

Maplets is a one time cost (I think)
Avenza is free with in-app purchases for deluxe maps
    both are nice to have

My time off is approved and hoping the CVT GB goes as planned and all inventory is on hand.

Hopefully there's room for an Oregon tag along!

Ill put my leave in in the next few days. Should get approved but I work for the DoD so that can change the day before im supposed to go lol.

And hoping to have the CVT too!

That's a good list of things to bring.

CB radio's might not be something everyone has

Cb radios are cheap. And everyone needs one. Particularly on the lolo. It is very very dusty and you will get spread out over several miles easily.

I can't recomend the Uinden 520xl pro enough. It's the best little unit avalible hands down.

A full cb setup will be well under $100

Last I talked to him there was going to be a limit on # of tents and the tents that qualify to ensure the GB is limited to stock on hand. So who knows :notsure:

Worst case a bring the sleeping pad and backpacking tent or just a bed roll.

Add another 40 for mount, antenna and cable and you're done.

Ive always just used a pair of "5 mile" range walkie talkies. But then again its always just been me and a buddy and we stay in eye sight. With the 5 or more trucks I can definitely see CB's being a better option.

And don't feel bad, my list is getting longer and longer. New front C/O's, pelfy front bumper, full pelfy skids, all-rpo rear bumper, RTT, tires and wheels, then wiring up a bunch of stuff....20" lightbar, rock lights, CB.....4 months or so to do it all

You have a lot more going than I do. I may get full skids but I will be sitting stock on 265/75R16 Hankook DynaPro RF10, CVT, CB, and then just tools and camping stuff and recovery gear.

For anyone who is looking for a cb you don't even need a mounted one, I use a handheld portable one with a battery pack and it works great with a magnetic antenna. But yes I'll be using CB on the trip
