Refreshing the issue, just had this happen to me when installing newer LED's. Now my switches (A-trac, moon roof) just turn on the light when pressed. Need a resolution!

Resolution!!! I contacted MESO (whom I purchased the light from) and sent it back to them, they repaired the overhead panel ground and sent it back. Seems like I arc'd the light when installing or pulling and it burned the ground (I'd think a fuse would do it there Toyota) but anyway it took about a week for sending/repair/return and it worked like a charm. All told I think I was $20 into shipping and such.

Removing the ground terminal at the battery does wonders...:burp:

Would it though? Maybe removing the positive terminal would be better so you don't complete the circuit but it also resets every F'ing thing on the truck so most folks do it hot. It's a light bulb not a 277v tesla battery. I would argue it should be fuse protected and not burn up the ground but Toyota didn't design it for LED's to be installed so I get it.

Every instruction printed by the dealer on electrical work has this:

    and when done, this:

There is a "hot" fuse, which means always powered when vehicle OFF, for the dome circuit. But touching a surface to complete a "circuit" doesn't always blow the fuse, but you found out.
