Lowered 3/4, debadged, led tails, projector headlights with hids, billet grill, blacked out windows, painted front and rear bumper and grill shell. Inside, 4 crappy 15's, suede wrapped headliner and door panel inserts, alpine double din, few painted pieces inside, and every led is either blue or white.
    Answer:
They are called high output alts, look it up everyone and their mother has one or more in their cars/trucks. Also there is a thing known as adding extra batteries.

You my friend are the one that needs to do some research. Wtf would I use a stock alt for that much power? lol

Not mad, just glad another moron wanted to make himself look like an idiot haha

I think he was implying that you should have bought the Tacoma HO with stock dual 400a alternators and 3 yellow top batteries. Everyone knows if you're planning to build a stereo, that is the tacoma to get. Otherwise it's no use at all :/

Well if you are seeking opinions here is mine. Your system is ridiculous but thats what teenagers do. My system as a teenager was not as ridiculous as yours, so kudos to your making something that ridiculous!

Its cool you are learning to do this yourself but everything is really sloppy and lacks attention to detail. I keep seeing all these posts about mad skills and great looking work but its pretty obvious that this is a first attempt. Keep up your work, get more and better tools, and keep improving you skills.

You seem to really think you know a lot about car audio and dismiss a lot of guys who could help you out and teach you something. Then again teenagers are know it alls, so that is to be expected. Try to keep an open mind and dont get too full of yourself along the way.

For me, I dont see a point in music above reference levels or bass that cannot be matched by the mids and highs. Yes, having a truck that people could hear before they saw me was cool in highschool. It was not so cool in college. If you want to do this for a career you really need to start working on details. Wavy, eneven fiberglass, huge gaps in your MDF of your box, zero filler used to remove all those flaws and a box with that little bracing and that much fiberglass is not going to be a good demo piece to get you hired.

You probably think I am an asshole at this point so I will just leave it there. Very interested to see the finished results.

Yes you are right, this is my first attempt at a fiberglass box but not my first box I have built. All of the areas that you say lack attention to detail is untrue. There is no uneven glass, so I am unsure what you mean about that. Also there are gaps in places where the wood joins but as you can see in the pictures every corner was glassed over and it is air tight. Filler to fill the gaps? Are you referring to body filler and suggesting I would use that to fill gaps with? Because that is not a good idea. What you see so far of the bracing is not the end of it. There will be two or three more wooden dowel's glassed vertically just like the ones that are glassed in horizontally.

Now about there being too much bass and not enough mids/highs is half true and half untrue. If you cannot tell I am very broke and cannot afford nice equipment, hence the total of $200 for the subs and amp. When I can afford it there will be plenty of mids/highs to keep up with the bass. And I can tell you from experience since I have had these subs for quite some time now that the stock speakers have no problem keeping up with the bass, which is not that overpowering as you might imagine.

So I am just another teenager to you that thinks I know it all? Show me one person that has posted in this build with a real piece of advice and where I blatantly dismissed it.

Now I understand that you are posting an opinion and I respect that. What I do not respect however is that you are just labeling me as an ignorant teenager that thinks he knows better than everyone else when I am far from that. Thanks for your opinion. If you have something to follow up with please do.

Lookin' good so far! The only thing I would change is to secure the dowels with something more secure than hot glue (check out gorilla glue next time you're at the hardware store).

Don't let DevL get under your skin. I think he's on his man rag this week, or just doesn't know what constructive criticism is.

    Keep up the good work.

Thanks man. I am going to probably glass over a few of the dowel's. The hot glue isn't strong enough and one did break already. Thanks for the advice.

    No response DevL? haha

Anyways, I've been lazy the past few days but I got some work done today. I duraglassed the mounting points onto the molds and will do the back once that dries. Also I glassed together each ring and some of the dowel's holding the rings up to hold up when I stretch the fabric over. Then I stretched some ponte over everything and added a layer of resin.

I'm a little worried about these areas where I didn't do so hot stretching the fabric, it should come out alright though.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Just fill all the folds with glass and make sure you don't have air bubbles and you should be fine.
