Guess you don't work on your own vehicles or tune them ;)
Oh well. Shut your fuel cut off and report back, willing to bet money that it makes zero difference in a back to back test?

    Seriously?

Not ALL obd2 ecm's have decel fuel cut off. Fact. Look it up and have fun with it.

I personally don't care if I burn a little more fuel if I bypass it. It's a feature I want and it shouldn't bother you in any way.

Just trying to say it won't make any difference in your downhill speed.

The nice thing about the Motec is you can adjust or disable the decel fuel cut...you know, for tuning purposes. :cookiemonster:

Did not read the entire thread to see if someone else mentioned it. Is there a possibility of removing the "rev hang" BS that us manual transmission guys have to deal with? Not only is it annoying but it makes shifting, especially at higher RPMs a clunky, grindy deal. I know the 6 speed trans sucks anyway but I suspect rev hang makes it worse.

Don't ask questions about features you want here. People will get angry and tell you how foolish your ideas are.

    My shit is all stock.
Yes! Myself and a few others have mentioned this before as well. It's pretty much my biggest complaint about driving this truck. Please, please, PLEASE Mat! Can we fix this?

TBH, probably not going to get "fixed". There's obviously many reasons to have engine braking, what do you not like about it?
    Also, that's a first gen thread... https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2003-tacoma-pre-runner-not-coasting-well.423773/
    Different engine, different tranny.

Reasons were previously stated and stated multiple times from other drivers in the threads I posted links to. 1gen, 2gen, 3gen, doesn't really matter. Same complaint from drivers. Almost every other aftermarket standalone unit has the option so it doesn't seem like a rare request.

Disabling DFCO can be dangerous. Due to electronic throttlebodies being used to also control idle, they never fully close (most are open at least 10-15% all the time), the truck will inadvertently drive itself.

lol really? I wonder why all the full standalone units have the feature? It's also useful in tuning since having the injectors shut down during tuning would be a pita. Oh well, I tried. :notsure:

Standalones usually aren't for street vehicles.
From what we have tested on other cars with drive by wire, when you disable DCFO (so the car still gets fuel when you're off throttle) it will coast down a lot slower, and as you get lower in rpm the car will start to drive on it's own. It will eventually decel to what would be normal moving with no throttle applied, but during the time it is, it is driving along the way.

    Hopefully that makes sense?
