Well it happened right now with the cold start, but it also was going crazy yesterday night after having used the truck half the day.

Yup, used it all day yesterday parked for a while and the truck cooled down, but when I drove it a few mile it warmed up again. Then I went to Whataburger and it was idling all weird.

What you’re describing is worth a ticket to zendesk. My wierd idle goes away fast and dosen’t return until the engine is stone cold again. An annoyance rather than an issue for me.

Yeah its an annoyance not a huge problem, but if it says its gonna fix something it should.

They didn't do it. Notes said they "performed reprogram" but ECU is still 04B03. I'm pissed because the service advisor had to involve the manager to get it done.

Is there a readily available tutorial on manually putting 04B04 on my ECU via techstream? I've searched the thread.

This is why most people don’t bother trying the dealer and just do it themselves

I had the same experience with the 04B03 TSB. I had to take it back and speak to the service manager to get it done. When 04B04 came out I didn't want to go through that again so installed techstream on my laptop and updated myself. Side benefit is you can do custom settings that only the dealer could do like blinkers, buzzers, door locks, etc.

If you already have TS installed, just double click the cuw file (for my TS version anyway) and it'll walk you through it, super easy.

i have not looked through all 2000+ pages, but wondering if i get the kit what octane to use. Here is UTAH typical station have 85,88, and 91, best i can tell it is an adjustment for altitude. So the question is for the 87 tune can i use 85? hope that makes sense.

    thanks

No, the 87 tune requires 87 minimum octane. The tune files are the minimum requirements, not maximum...

It has already been discussed. You are getting 85 because of your altitude. You can safely run the 87 tune, but if you will be driving to a location at lower altitude you should be filling up with 88 before you leave.
