I believe one of the selectable maps will be for towing. I imagine Mat took the TC into consideration when he put it together. Heat seems like a high priority when towing. Mat’s probably well aware and took care of it. When the details come out (I think tomorrow?) that’ll be one thing I’ll be looking for too.

The 1st Post here is the only place that I know that has all the instructions, tips, and warnings in one spot:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/software-update-for-the-manual.562550/

AT CUW software is attached to Post 184:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/software-update-for-the-manual.562550/page-10#post-18446197

@lapoltba 's signature and mine have a later version of TS that allows folks to do diagnostics, monitoring, and dealer only customizations (like killing the seat belt chimes) for the 2018 and 2019 models.

Killing the seat belt chimes? I'll be checking this out.

Any other neat tricks I might be interested in?

Will this turd ever come out? SOON, I can smell it.

Do you think number 2 will ever drop?

    someone say turd?

edit: I can’t wait. I’m happy on 19800, but feel like once this drops we can move onto turbos. Excited to get 2.0 out of the way.

I increased my turn signal flash so when I tap it it goes for 5 flashes versus stock (3 I think?). You can do up to 7. Can’t remember what else you can tinker with but it was worth it to update to 04B04

So I have 04B03 on my truck but when I am using the OVTune it only shows 04B02 and 04B23. There is an 04B03 under the 2017 but mine is a 2016. Should I do the 2017? Also if I use 1.05.1 and 91 octane, should I use the performance or the base?

Sorry for all the questions but I want to make sure I do this correctly. I appreciate all the help everyone has been giving.

Should work, USB 3 is backwards compatible with USB 2. I never checked what USB port I used until now and it was a USB 3 port. Installed with no problems. Probably just making sure you arent using an older usb1 plug as that would likely be too slow and probably not support the tactrix cable.
Yes you should. Instructions say you may have to check the next model year. Performance or base is your choice. I've only had it in my truck for a week and installed the base tune to start. I'll likely try the performance tune in another week or 2. May just wait for 2.0 to release.

    Thank You.

Does anyone have the CUW file that would take my 2016 AT from 04B03 to 04B04? How long does the ECU flash take?

How, did you do this? Did you have Toyota do it? Are there any tools to help us do this on our own? TechStream?

It can be done with TS and the OVT / Tactrix adapter or with the Carista app and a BT or WiFi adapter.

I havent located it yet, was looking earlier today. From the posts I've read about it i'd end up having to do like 3 of the things they all said not to do. Kinda scared me off since I dont want the risk of temporarily bricking the ecu since I DD my truck and its my only vehicle. I might be ok and have no issues but I'm scared. Also 2.0 doesnt seem that far out so I can probably wait it out since I've barely even experienced 1.5 so far. Tomorrow will be my first day taking the truck on the highway since installing it!
I had a buddy change mine to 5 blinks a long time ago with techstream. I forget what menu it was under. I have also heard some of the OBDii readers can do it.
