The TSBs are 80k or 5(don't quote me) years. I just went in with document in hand and got it for free. Other dealerships tried to charge me, finally printed the paperwork - much easier.

yeah every time I try to mention TSBs they say they can’t do anything unless the truck throws a code or NEEDS a tsb update...

Ask for service manager and give him/ her a Starbucks gift card ...... works every time. Did mine no problem.

This is for anyone running the 5.29 tune, have you guys noticed a clunk when downshifting into 1st like when you come to a stop?

Edit I have 400 miles on the tune

just take the proper TSB paperwork with you. When they refuse or say they can't duplicate the issue ask for their Service Manager and General Manager names - they tell them you want the information so your family knows who to include in the law suite against the Toyota and the Dealer for not following the Federal Laws with regard to TSB's and personnel safety (meaning you get hurt in an accident and their failure to perform the TSB is partially or entirely to blame). Then go the service lobby and start talking shit about their failure to follow said regulations.

Truly - better to just look for a TW member in your area that can do the update for you - Look for posts by @lapoltba as he has them listed in his signature block.

have you checked your trans fluid level? If not I would start there. Likely it is low especially if you have the factory tow package - about 2/3 to 3/4 qt low.

Mine does that tuned and stock. But only when cold, at temperature it doesn't. Still need to check the trans fluid level.

My P5 buttons are grayed out all of the sudden as well. Tried some stuff, gave up. Will deal with it later :D

On the gearlock topic from a few days ago. I'll say gearlock is fun just driving, but towing the camper I usually use S mode to keep it out of 5th and 6th, but sometimes it auto downshifting into 3rd is nice. In gearlock I just activity shift into 3rd right now when needed.

    Maybe I'm using it wrong.

@OVTune any updates for those of us waiting on our P5FLASH license after returning our dongle last month? Do I need to submit another ticket? I did send my info via pm on TW as requested. But no reply. Not trying to be repetitive. Just beginning to get frustrating. I know you are busy and get a ton of questions. Wish I could of just kept it and received 2.0 for my Tacoma and the other person attached to my dongle license.

Good luck. I’ve never received a response from him ever unless I sent him money so I just gave up and part of the reason I never purchased twin turbo kit. 700 plus added vf tuner fee just to have, hopefully, the ability to use 2.0 with throttle that’s not balls to wall crazy in traffic or half dead at beginning then sling ya in the seat after the throttle is pressed about a quarter way down.

Whatever 2.0 gives maybe I can adjust with the vf tuner via forum help. He’s basically nonexistent support wise so until that changes I’m done spending.

Life long fans can continue to support but I’m sick of hearing his griping as much as he’s sick of hearing others troll and complain and I’ve only read a little of his griping can’t imagine hearing his griping but at least he’s getting paid to listen to it.

Bash away internet guys I won’t be reading it anyway only check here periodically to see if 2.0 is ever coming final or not then cya. If he ever gets his crap together and offers proper support and responsiveness I’ll gladly come back as a customer and buy his turbo kit. Never will ever charge back anything as it’s wrong but I can honestly see why people have done it so much.

Question for you guys...how long does it typically take to hear back with your registration info when you first get all the ovtune/vf tuner set up? Emailed them my information about a week ago with no response. It said 24-48 hours to get a reply so I'm just curious. How long did it take y'all to get a reply when you sent them the info for your truck?

I was thinking about the fluid level since I've never checked it. I just don't remember it happening on the stock gear tune.

seems like we are all waiting for responses. I’ve sent an email and a PM to @OVTune

I’m still patiently waiting. I’ve had my tune since late 2018.....

hahahahahaha! Noooo. I probably should’ve worded that better. I’ve had the tune successfully installed since back in 2018 I got a response fairly quickly.

it seems like lately, it’s just taking a bit longer to hear back. It’s a pain to wait and it’s more of a pain for me considering how much the tune cost.

Geeeez had me worried there hahahaha. I was gonna say...if that's the case maybe its time to call the credit card company! I don't want to be impatient that's why I asked here. Just wanted to see what's normal or if I needed to be the squeaky wheel. Hard to wait though I'm excited to get it hooked up!

It’s most likely trans fluid. It’s fairly easy to do yourself.
