I have a 2020 and I'd never go back to stock. The trans is even better even though the 2020 was a good improvement over previous years. If you like your truck enjoy it, but i couldn't wait to tinker with this and so glad I did.

    Best,

    John

I finally decided to update this morning from the August 2019 3rd Beta (16012 Premium) to 2.0 Final Premium Stock. I didn't do any clearing of values (never have done that before either). I've only driven a couple of miles, but everything seems fine so far.

14 would be crazy. Trucks getting this range of MPG must be very heavy and driven with a lead foot and have a majority of short drive cycles (engine barely has enough time to warm up). Using my truck as a baseline, this is the only way I can see this being possible. My truck can tow a 4000 pound trailer + occupants and gear and still get 14-15 MPG AND I live in an area with no flat ground. I’d definitely be driving a Tundra or other if I had to deal with 14 MPG on a regular basis.

Are these people with low MPG numbers using larger than stock tires without speedometer correction?

4k lbs and net 14-15mpg! That is extremely impressive based on what I’m getting towing a similar trailer. I usually average around 11-12mpg towing but I’m towing on interstate around 55mph. Daily driving on average I get around 15mpg. I think it’s my heavy e load cooper st maxx tires 285 and my 5.29 gears killing it mostly. But I still love the truck. Speedo corrected.

14.6 as of this morning. Tundra has been on my mind lately too since I mainly tow a bass boat weekly and hardly do any offroading. But I think I'm going to hold onto the Tacoma, wait for the new Tundra in a year or two, and buy one of those too. Hold the Taco for camping and offroad fun.

Just flashed 2.0 final 91 performance stock wheels, stock gears and lemme say, bravo. 2.0 beta was...... so so, I wasnt upset at my 600 bucks invested. But 2.0 final feels like the truck should have from factory. It revs out gears appropriatly instead of shifting 5 times in 30 ft at 1.5k rpms. It no longer has a fuel cut at WOT from 3rd to 4th. And man does the power really seem to come on at about 4k, it almost reminded me of VTEC, kinda liked it, makes it feel artificially more powerful than it actually is. And the shifting when it senses hills is on fucking point now. Very impressed, I didnt recommend the tune much before, but the 2.0 final is completely transformative. So I definitelly will now. 10/10 GOTY.

So, browsing through this thread I have come up with two possible scenarios for those with dump tubes: A final 2.0 will be available with catted and decatted dump tube options available, or dump tubes will have to be tuned in by way of VFtuner by the owner of the truck. Does anyone know exactly? I would prefer a 2.0 final tune from OVTune that includes the dump tube option, but I really don't care either way, I just would like to know so I can start learning how to use the VFtuner software.

It's Wednesday again. Has anyone seen anything concrete about a 2.0 actual final release? Looks like OV's Facebook mentioned something about a VFtuner update. Hoping that may reasonably coincide with the 2.0 release.

Im confused now. Was the 2.0 final I flashed not the 2.0 final?

Yes and no. It's 2.0 final base, minus some features like gear-lock and map switching. Performance variants of the current 2.0 final maps for AT are in the works according to Mat

Well if thats just the base, I cant wait for the extra goodies to be added. as long as it doesnt break something existing. Because 2.0 final is leagues better than beta.

Dumb question, maybe, but what is meant by "map switching"?
