Thanks for looking into that for us Mat. I can say that I never get a clunk on acceleration with 1.01b or 1.02c-c but it happened frequently on 1.02c-a. There is another clunk that always happens regardless of tune that generally happens when coming to a stop while cold. Will normally happen with this delayed clunk / shift feeling but rarely happens once warmed up. The acceleration clunk does feel similar but at least in my case hasn’t been consistent with all tunes as you’re experiencing.

Interesting that you say 2002 Tundra. I had a 2002 Sequoia followed by a 2005 Sequoia. The 2002 had the thunk pretty bad and pretty often. The 2005 was not nearly as bad. I'd say my 2017 Tacoma is better still then the 2005 Sequoia was in this regard, but it still thunks sometimes. Maybe if Toyota spent some time thunking about it, they could come up with a fix.. o_O

It’s weird because I remember having the clunk probably the first 1K miles. After the tranny did it’s learning bs it went away. I’m assuming since I reflashed the ECU that I’m back to where I started when I bought the truck.
I’ll be curious to see if this gets better with alittle time and driving.

Not gonna lie, having everyone chime in with the exact same problem makes me feel alittle better.

Since June 17", and smitty99 getting dumped I've been part of this thread. Now I'm officially on board and all good things come to those who wait.

So tempting now and all accounts are very favorable. When 2.0 is busted then I'll be there.

question for all my fellow OVTune tacomas..

been really really really really enjoying my OVT tune the past couple months. Been running 1.02c A since its release. But the reason for my post being I was one of the many awhile back saying how I wanted to the trucks learning ability disabled. I didn't like the idea of it and others were saying once it learns it seemed to dull down the drive ability.
Well after 2 months of driving I feel that my truck was never dulled down and actually I'm starting to notice that the shifting and gear holding has gotten even better.(maybe thanks to the learning feature?)

Of course after OVTune gear holding, shifting, was 100x better & because of that worth every $$$. I noticed when cruising up large hills or a steep incline, my truck could find the gear it needed to be in to make it up but it felt kind of laggy still. Nothing as awful as the stock tune of course but enough for me to notice. Then one day I tackled one of my normal hills on a drive home and holy shit she moved up that hill better than any time before. I started to really pay attention my next couple drives, the gear holding has improved. On one of my daily freeway inclines. At certain point I knew exactly where the truck would shift based on my speed(to early) and nope she kept on going. I even feel the shifting has become a little faster and smoother.

Anyone else with the tune and 1000+ miles experience any improvement like I have? anyone know if 1000+ miles about the time it takes the learning feature to adjust to your driving?

I'm on the MT 1.03 latest release, and I've been running OV since alpha.

my experience is basically the same as yours. regarding motor performance, not shifting obviously, but the throttle response primarily has improved over time. after the initial flash the power curve and all is clearly different, but over time the throttle response appears to access the torque more immediately and fully. I'm a very consistent driver, pretty deliberate with the throttle, and i guess this is where the learning can benefit... really not sure but the throttle does appear to become much more responsive and immediate. I've noticed it every flash, and believe it or not I've never had any bad ecu "learning" experience so far.

Nope.. order 2133 on 11/7 and no update/reply to email or PM/tracking.. Per his post last week hopefully it went out over the weekend? The SoCal fires may slow stuff down though, not sure how close they are to OV

I ordered 11/7 as well but all his estimates for getting these out were based on estimating when he received the hardware so until he reports actually receiving the hardware I'm just gonna relax. At this point I'm probably just going to wait till 1.03 is released to load it anyway. I've been hanging around since almost the beginning so another couple weeks to get the most refined version is fine with me. I've got plenty of other shit to keep me busy this time of year. :)

Yeah I’m mostly just confused because a poster stated his order was 2134 (just 1 after mine) and he was setting up his dongle like a week ago :notsure: Wanted to make sure I didn’t get skipped

(His post I think from 12/2):

Everything is still on track. We are all set to finish up and start pre-orders stuff today.
A small set back Friday only because of the fires closing down all the schools.

Some tracking may not have updated and also some orders say they are not getting tracking I will email you, check you spam folder as well.
Post office was overloaded with boxes. My guess is delay due to fires or the holidays.

Pre orders will be done today along with anything else.

everyone who ordered should be receiving their kit this week. If you did you not receive tracking I am working on getting those out to anyone who did not get the email.

pre-order folks you will be receiving an invoice to your email that you made the deposit with.
