I apologize for not reading all the pages. Will this tune work with manuals?

 

When I'm cruising in town with my foot just barely touching the accelerator, I want the truck to be just above lugging, so 1200-1500. But I also don't want the truck to stay in that gear until I reach half throttle the way it did stock. @OVTune nailed it with gears 1,2, 4, 5, and 6. Three is the oddball.

I appreciate the "just throw it in S mode" or "just go up to 35 and then slow back down" suggestions, but that's the kind of crap that I used to have to do with the stock tune all the time. Not having to do that and just have it behave like a 'normal' vehicle is why I bought the tune.

Hey did you have any luck with this? I am having the same problem. It says "This software cannot run in a virtual environment". Anybody know anything?

Anything lower than 2000 rpm is no good, please don't change that. I would want the truck to always cruz at 2k and above in every gear.

 

Yes. Once I excluded my OVTunes folder from Defender scanning it worked fine.

 

I tried that, still didn't work. Do i need to restart? Are you on a MAC?

Yes, MacBook Pro running Bootcamp and Windows 8.1.

 

I never got it to work in Virtualbox/Win7 on OSX. Ended up using a separate Win7 laptop.

Long-term this is the solution I need to have working. When the next release of the tune comes out I'll to figure it out. My Win7 laptop isn't going to keep working forever.

 

No. Around town it's fine. For those of you commenting that it holds 3rd gear too long, manually shift to fourth and look at your instant fuel economy. The truck does not get better gas mileage lugging around town. Try it, do your 45 and under commute in S-mode

@OVTune, I have a similar complaint of holding gears. However, it's related to highway driving and involves ECT. The ECT map on the 91 tune makes it nearly impossible to get into 6th gear anywhere under 75 mph. What's strange it that if I am in ECT/5th gear/70mph and then de-select ECT the truck shifts to 6th...and if I stay at ECT-OFF/6th Gear/70mph and re-engage ECT the truck remains in 6th.

I personally feel that the shift point/ upshift criteria for 5th-6th in ECT needs adjusting.

 

Please do because I am pulling my hair out and cannot get it to work even when i restart and reload the hardware. And now Windows 10 won't even allow me to access group policy for some reason

 

OK, so I borrowed another Windows 7 machine and got all the drivers loaded.
I plugged in the black USB and opened pcmflash and this is what i am seeing:


USB dongle is not accessible (0).
Please check if it is connected and restart application.
Application version: 1.1.94

The super low lugging I notice in 5th feels fine to me because the downshift threshold to 4th is fairly low. There's a quarter second of lugging before the downshift to 4th and I'm off and on my way. I'm happy that you kept this in there and appropriately adjusted the downshift threshold.

It seems the up shift point to 3rd feels high but OK. It's the downshift threshold from 4th to 3rd that need some work. So much gas pedal is needed (especially on hills) for the 4->3 downshift that it feel abrupt/harsh followed by a lurch in acceleration.

Otherwise the shifting itself is dramatically improved. ECT mode almost feels as intuitive as Hondas - revs quickly and smoothly changes gears at 3500 to 4000rpm under throttle but upshifts and calms down to low RPMs when I get to my target speed.

 

If you go to device manager do you see the little yellow triangle on the Guardant device? I forget exactly how it shows up.
