Lengths will be different being different gens, your leaf center puns are not centered if I recall. The ride is what I wanted, I have yet to put a load in it to see how they stand up there, I don't bottom out with 4 passengers going over a speed bump now. :thumbsup:Doug and this mod are awesome!

Hmmm, not a bad idea, at the very least a logo Doug, have to chat with the wife about coming up with a logo for you, with your input of course.

Haha nice! Well hopefully someone can chime in with the length that I should use for what I'm trying to accomplish. I may just cut it to match the toyo 2nd. But for now I'll see where searching can get me.

Hi Jacob I heard your cry for help brother !! j/k:D

If you want to firm things up without lift, see if you can find a Dodge dakota in the local wrecking yard, they're known for sitting fairly low , yet have a 3/4 ton rating (that means less ARC, slightly thicker leafs )

Just leave it at OMD with the springs. Could think about giving the final design to "local" vinyl printers to spread out the work. RuggedT had posted a vinyl printing thread with the Virginia guys.

    Also, what's OMD:notsure:

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

chris knows haha... I think it started one day when I was doing some springs for Matty (RecklessTaco), we were looking at them & he said they look like OME's & I said " Bullshit, these are OMD's " Matt says "OMD?" & I muttered "Old Man Dougs" We were about half fucked up, laughed for about half an hour & the name just kinda stuck,, besides I'm older than Emu anyway...:p:)

& yeah I'll have it cleaned up & lookin' right before it goes into print...

Is there a combo we can use with say a TSB pack to replace a Pro Comp AAL and block....to get 6" that is currently on a truck rear...just want no block.

    Hello All,
This is my first post so forgive any errors. I purchased my truck used with 59K mile in Sept. I have been following this thread since Thanksgiving when I drove my atv 2100 miles for hunting season in my bed. Leading me here for obvious reasons.

I am a "do it myself" type person and this thread was just what I was looking for.

Here is what I have gathered so far reading through for my 2 gen.

    Take notes:
Throw a tape measure across your springs, they should be around 2.5" wide.
    Record your width.
Make sure the donor leafs are not wider then your current leafs.
Leafs are about 1/4" thick, record your thickness as a point of reference.
The thicker your donor leafs, the less leafs you will need to add.
(A little steel goes a long way.)
Take your tape measure with you to the yard.

Research to find a local junkyard: ( no local yards near me)
Let your fingers do the walking. Maybe call a few yards to see if the have suitable trucks with potential donors. Maybe even the golden donor Chevy S 10 flatbed 1 ton.

get 2 chevy leaf spring packs from the junkyard
(S-10 One ton flatbed springs are ideal )
(making sure the arch on them are similar)
(more arch, more lift. Less arch less lift. )

Disassemble the new donor leaf packs:
Tighten C-clamps near the centerpins to keep the springs compressed.
    Remove the centerpin.
Remove the factory clamps with an angle grinder.
    Slowly decompress the springs.
Select middle leafs from each set of donors.
cut the 2 new top leafs 34" overall, 17" each way from centerpin hole.
cut the 2 new bottom leafs 26" overall, 13" each way from centerpin hole.
diamond cut ends approx 30 degree angles / \
    Clean up & preventative maintenance

    Items to purchase:
    Purchase new U-bolts.
    Purchase new center pins.
Leaf pads, wheel borrow tire or bike inner tubes to cut to size. (Squeak relief)

    Build side clamps.

Repack your new leafs like (an Add-a-leaf) from top to the bottom: NON-TSB
    Bump stop
Leave current main spring for proper length and bushings.
Leave second leaf for current soft ride with minimal load.
Add the new top leaf 34" overall with inner tube cut on top near ends.
Add the new bottom leaf 26" overall with inner tube cut on top near ends.
    Leave overload leaf, if needed.
Add new center pin, cut to fit bump stops with hacksaw.
Add new U-bolts ( stock length plus thickness of 2 new leafs)
    Repeat on the other side.

    Add-a-leaf "how to" reference thread

    Am I missing anything?
