I legit cannot figure out how to search on here must be all the paint chips.

For sure well that's helpful info I was hoping that the leaf pack would make more of a difference because the weight of the Flipac is taking a bit of a toll. Either way might as well swap it over as they are newer than my current ones.

Do you have the 3 leaf or the 4 leaf spring pack? If 3, then the leaf pack would be an upgrade for you. Otherwise, for help with weight you could look into an AAL, they can be had for pretty cheap and usually don't affect ride too much.

I ran 3rd gen TRDOR suspension for a year or so and I enjoyed it. Truck rode nice and the 4leaf pack handled loads nicely. I had about 800lbs of landscape timbers in the bed and other miscellaneous home improvement loads and never had much of an issue. If you have constant weight, you might could look into another option like airbags, or sumo springs or an AAL in addition to the 3rd gen leaf pack

I have pretty good luck with googling things about our trucks. 90% of the time a search result brings me back to TW anyway and I seem to do better googling than trying to use TW search tool. Just have to include "Tacoma" or "Tacomaworld" in your search

heres a few that google brought me "tacoma 3rd gen suspension on 2nd gen"

He's got the 4 leaf pack so at least it's a little more than I have at the moment. I've been looking into a full suspension set up but of course, funds are an issue so looks like the 3rd gen set up will be a good intermediate and maybe an AAL. As for "constant" weight, I've really only got the Flippac and my fat ass. The camping load is what im more concerned about getting under control which is me, the lady, two dogs, gear, and Flippac which puts us close to 700-750 so if you've had luck with about 800lbs I think I should be good.

Thanks for the tip I'll have to try that out instead of the TW search bar which I rarely have luck with haha.

I replaced the leaf packs, rear shocks, and front coil-over assemblies from my '12 regular cab 4x4 with takeoffs from a '17 DCSB OR a couple weeks ago with no issues. Definitely an improvement over the stock setup and well worth the $150 and an afternoon it cost me to install. My truck had the flimsy 3 leaf packs from the factory. I typically have about 300-500 pounds in the back between the topper, bed mat, and dogs. The new setup handles that weight much better than stock. Hope that helps!

If funds are an issue then the 3rd gen suspension is definitely the most budget option that gives you an upgrade all around. I got mine for $125 for front coilovers, rear shocks and leaf pack.

Good luck! 800lbs was definitely noticeable but
    That's a steal! Beautiful truck

Another option if you were looking for free suspension stuff is the 5th gen 4Runner coilovers, they bolt right in and give about an inch of lift - probably the same / similar to the TRD OR coilover. It basically perfectly leveled my truck.

 if any of the OG’s are still around then y’all know who I am. For the new guys... don’t get rid of your single cab ever. I miss mine every day and currently have a truck with 5x the power my taco had. Power doesn’t make up for character. I miss the single cab life :pout:

Rebuild......no replace for me. Just got done rebuilding whole rr axle because differential gasket couldn't hang.......rest was still good for awhile but since axles coming out to fix diff gasket, redid whole thing including new bearing/hubs. Cheaper to keep her!

Any chance you can tell me what the "valved and tuned for the 2.7" entails? They sent mine with 600 lb springs and appropriate valving. I swapped in 500 lb springs but still have stock valving. I need to get these things set up correctly so I don't feel like I wasted $2600. Thanks!
