You should measure your shaft angles and adjust. Most just put the OME center support bearing spacers in and are good.

Hello! 2018 TRD Pro stock everything here, only a BackFlip bed cover; no real plans to add any excessive weight or go beyond 33" tires, OR probably once a month and only doing light hauling. Read through every page of both mega threads and thinking of just going 5.29s with OV tune since I am at altitude. I am looking at a Magnuson SC sometime in the near future, so question - is there an optimum gear (between 4.88 and 5.29) for SCs? Would it make a difference, especially for a truck with stock weight and tires? Thanks!

Yeah, me as well. I'm thinking that there's not a lot of braking improvement going from drums to discs on the rear though. I pinged Meso about it and he didn't reply. I had repeatedly warped front rotors on a 3/4 ton ford 4*4 which I finally solved by installing Powerslots.

Ty for the reply ,yep I currently have one in there had it in there before the regear. I’ll go ahead and order one of the slope measuring thing and give it a shot.also have new 315s sitting in the garage ,bigger tires may slow the the rotation and help. I’ll give that a shot too

I know it’s the Holidays, I reached out to the Hammer Hanger folks, waiting for reply... I noticed their lead times are pretty significant, up to 70 days. They look pretty straight forward regarding install. Thoughts and experience?

I’m going to a single piece come Feb. I luckily haven’t run into any vibration issues. I have the same set up regarding coil overs and springs. I talked to my local shop and they said it’s pretty hit and miss with the vibration issues.

I did it myself but it was a pain in the ass. I used an angle grinder and punch and other basic tools. But if you've got fancy stuff like plasma tools, I bet it'd be cake. I don't think I noticed a difference in handling, though many report improvements, but I definitely like that they're beefy. They look like they can take a hit and shake it off and won't flex. Makes the stock hangers look like cardstock.

thanks for reaching out my guy. Hope it continues to be a smooth ride for u, as of now I’m fitting the 315s on to see if it’ll make a difference ,once all the trimming and hammerings done I’ll take it out for a spin to see if the buzzing vibe is still there at those higher speeds.
Here’s a pic of it being test fitted to see where the rubs are

Depends on the drive shaft. Single piece drive shaft the trans output and pinion flange need to be on the same plane. I like the pinion to be pointed down at most 1* so that when you apply power, the pinion rises to be on the same plane as the output flange for maximum power transfer.

For 2 piece or more driveshafts, the joints need to be within 3* of each other, closer the better.

Well took it out for a spin on the freeway, it slight vibration is still there, it’s like the sound of going on those steel bridges or driving on the shoulder lane where the grooves are 55-65ish .I’ll do what @Texoma said and measure those angles. Here’s some few photos ... the wheels are work pitneys 3 piece from Japan.

Did you add the center support spacer because you were experiencing vibration after the lift/before the re-gear? I ask, because I have a DCLB, and didn't need the spacer after lift. I've heard the same about others. Maybe try removing the spacer to see if it goes away? :notsure:

Hey, no I didn’t add the spacer because of any vibration before or after the lift , I just added it when I did the lift two years ago. Maybe I’ll take it out and give it a shot too. Thanks

nope just took it out , still does it at 60-70. Now that I have the Mts on . The noise kinda resembles mts when you are slowing down and you hear the lugs come in contact with the floor and the slight vibration from them ,but I get it at 60-70 and and only in that speed and a bit louder. Lol hope you guys can picture it lol kinda like having solid engine mounts with a race car and the dash is vibrating ,but not that bad
Let me add that this is only happening after regearing and only at 60-70 any other speed is smooth no noise.

When you regear, it puts vibrations in at a different speed. If you had a vibe at 80, now its at 70 as an example. There are also other factors as well. Only problem with the Tacoma 2 piece drive shaft is that you can't move the yrans output, so you have to work with center support and pinion only.
