That is excellent! Lots of people are kinda scared of cars and maintenance stuff but once you tried it, it becomes easy! now he'll save a bunch of money on oil changes!

 

I know! It’s pretty great. He said each one used to cost him $70 but now he can do it himself for $30. Also his spark plugs were expensive as shit. $55 for 4 of them, so I couldn’t even imagine what the dealer would charge to change them. Probably $200

 

My denso plug for the 2.7 are also expensive. I don't remember how much tho but I was surprised! Still have the original box I'll try to find another vendor to save a bit. I'd need to change them again

 

We had to search around to find the cheapest ones and stay OEM. eBay for the win!

 

Iridium also for the V6?

 

No the V6 just gets basic copper plugs. He has a newer Honda Accord with a 4 cylinder so it calls for iridium. Side note, changing the plugs on his car was the easiest thing ever. All 4 are right up top in a neat little row. Took like 20 min to swap them.

 

Where did you find the idler pulleys for the 4.0 taco?

 

I haven’t actually bought them yet, but I will from rockauto. Part numbers are on the pic in this thread

People actually replace the bearing and not the whole pulley?

 

I guess so? I’m just replacing the whole thing. Much easier that way.
