Thinking of adding a second battery...

So is this the "average" mileage when this POS bearings fail? My Taco has only 35xxx miles. I just want to get ready when I get close to the mileage when they start to go ape shit.

Unsure, but alot of people on here say that these bearings start to fail in or around this mileage.

How do you tell if a wheels bearing is bad. Ibeen hearing a whinning sound that get louder the faster you go. My friend said he thought you could jake the truck up and slide a bar threw the wheel and see if there any movement up and down

I was hearing the same thing, a whirring noise that got louder and faster as I sped up the truck. If you are going to do one, do them both as the other one is not far behind to fail!

I took a look on Rock Auto Yesterday and the entire hub assembly was about $75 dollars a side.

At that price, I would call the repair cheap and easy, and BTW, I have a nice 20 ton press in my shop.

i bought the hub/bearing assembly on ebay but having a hard time finding a shop that are able to press out and in the new hub. they are all saying they dont have the tools to get in between the hub and axle hub. any suggestions in shops? ive tried delta machine shop and napa auto already.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.

I did it with a couple metal plates and two pieces of plate steel on a manual 20 ton hydraulic press. Try a regular auto mechanic or an engine builder.
