I'll have to be 100% positive before I start taking stuff off this truck. I love it. I'm really just needing more person space. Might as well put comfort ahead of having a bed. I'll be sure to let you know if I'm parting this summer.

I have offered the wife a new kitchen if she will offload that euro-trash she drives and replace it with a 5th-gen runner. No dice. "Those are u-g-l-y!" she retorts.
WTH is it with some wimmin folk and their love of shitty sedans? :notsure:

My girlfriend hates the new 4runners. She has good taste in cars mostly but really hates the 4runners.

I've seen your gf, cutie btw:drool::D.. Might wanna keep her around by keeping the taco, plus your just starting out, might be better off waiting a while to see how things go, get settled a little more in your financial life etc.. Don't wanna be in a $ hole and hot gf'less.. Do what you want tho, 4runners are sweet.

Glad to know I'm not the only one in this boat. I actually went and looked at a 2016 trail premium this weekend for the wife. Her biggest complaint....."I hate the bubble headlights" o man I said f that I'll get you new headlights tomorrow. She drives a Nissan Rogue now only 12k miles on it but can't stand it. Not enough room and it's not s Toyota. Looking at the highlander now instead she likes that one better but I have seriously considered trading my 15TRD OR for a 4R. They look bad ass, comfortable, drive like a truck, and not so outdated. Although the one thing holding me back is I kayak often and have a Hobie so roofing that thing might be a pain.

Haha if only you knew what she thought of my truck. She doesn't like it too much. Most of her complaints are about comfort though so she thinks a 4runner would be better. With a decent trade in, I could get pay for a 2014 runner in cash.

While I've been looking, I've found a ton of 2014s being sold by Hertz. They are previous rentals with less than 50k miles on them. How bad of an idea is it to consider previous rental cars?

Haha I think she likes it enough to ride in it.

Most of the time we drive her car to save gas though. Mine is for fun.

I'm against this. Now that that's out of the way, getting a relatively new 4Runner for ~$5K would be a great way to start the summer.

Haha It would be pretty sweet. I'll be looking more around that time. I could definitely swing a few k for an almost new car.

I am curious to find out whether the trade-in value is affected by your aftermarket stuff.

I personally wouldn't want a prior rental.. Partly bc I know how I drive them..:)
I'd rather spend more and get new, that way I knew it's history etc.. But if you're thinking it thru and can do it, go for it.

Not if your gf looked like his you wouldn't:D
jk what do I know she may.

I bet most if not all of those are 2WD.

They specify 4wd and interior photos have the 4wd switch. Would not even consider a 2wd

They'd probably accept all of it but they would claim "we won't give you extra for the aftermarket parts" then when they sell it they'll mark it up another 7g and advertise it as LIFTED
