What's up fellow members. I'm looking for a few pictures to put in our Youtube video. So... we are working on a video where we talk about the reasons/dislikes about a roof top tent. One of those reasons is you can't fit the truck/SUV with the RTT mounted in a standard height garage, especially with a lift and bigger tires. I want to insert a few pics of lifted trucks with big tires when we're talking about it, just for about 2-3 seconds. I figured this thread would be the best place to ask. There are some gray area with copyright rules and I don't like using other peoples pictures without their consent. PM me some pictures if you're cool with it. Now if you have a picture on the driveway with an RTT where it clearly shows that you can't fit in the garage, that would be perfect. Also if you guys get a chance, check out our video on why a roof top tent is worth it. Destination Basecamp is our channel, and thanks for the support.

if an rtt is making the difference about fitting in a garage just get mounts so its not above the roof

That’s the only reason I wish I went with a Gladiator… 6 inch lift 40’s all day NO rubbing just regear it if you want. I Love my Tacoma but your Super limited on what wheels and tires you can run. I have a 6 inch lift on mine and wanna run 37’s but damn.

Pretty much unless you want to run maybe 2 or 3 tires out there that are 37s/16s.

Is cutting into the bay or above the wheel well necessary to run 37s or just tubing the cab? I rarely wheel nowadays so its mainly for the look now. :(

Also, anyone running 37s with an aftermarket front bumper? Did it help with adjusting the alignment caster to move the wheel up or was tubing the cab still necessary? Can you post some pictures? My 35s are on the way out and thinking of making the jump to 37s.

If you want to limit up travel a lot I’m sure it’s possible to save the top of the inner fender, but that doesn’t mean it won’t rub the fire wall and cab mount when turning

Tubbing the cab is nessecary unless you somehow push the wheel forward 2". Even then, you will still cram the entire inner fender, and bind the tire on the battery box/airbox inner fender area.

I don't mind having the cab tubbed but really dont want to cut into the battery/airbox part of the fender area.

Would anyone share pics of their bays after tubbing/making room for 37s? Appreciate it.

Still rockin 37s. Allpro +2 kit up front, dual tcases, 3 link rear end. Only things I’ve broken was a Tundra steering rack, a tie rod here and there, and broke a Rcv front axle the other week. Otherwise I drive it 1200 miles at 85mph, beat the crap out of it, drive it home and to work

The fronts are cut a hair past the top of fender flare, so like 4 or 5”.
