The rear cats are removed on the URD 3rd gen y-pipe which is why I asked about any extra pollution smell.

 

The front cats are on a single pipe which comes out of the head.

The engine is 2GR-FKS.

 

That picture diagram shows headers. I was quite curious how steel headers could be a part of the aluminum heads as a "mold." They are just using overly simplistic misleading fancy talk.

Have you measured your y-pipe's O.D. at various points? Checking for decreased diameters.

 

i know the new tacos are like the hondas the manifold is a 4 bolt flange to the head. single pipe to cat. all the runners are apart of the cylinder head.

 

you can make a header still.

 

Does the head flange match any turbo flanges? Lol just bolt on twin turbo setup!

 

lol i dont think so but if someone sent me the factory manifold i could make a flange with whatever size outlet made into it. like 3inch or 2.5

The picture diagram is incorrect. The parts diagram is correct. I just went out and measured the y-pipe. The driver side drops down from 2.25 to 2 inches after the rear cat while the passenger side is 2 inches all the way from the front cat. Why they do that is anyones guess.

There is defintely only one pipe coming from the head.

 

Take a few good pictures if you don't mind. Of the headers. Where they mate to the head.

On the 2nd gen, the Y-pipe was similar. It was dual walled though. So it looked like 2.25" when in fact it was 2".

Probably similar in your case.

Did you notice a lot more pollution smell with the rear cats removed? How much louder and how much drone did you notice?

 

you misspelled "freedom smell"

 

Mine is about the same as stock... Both smell and noise










As long as the key is turned off

 

I remember so many of my 60s, 70s and 80s cars and that freedom smell. Tune the carb by smell.
