    Hi everyone!

I’ve got a camper trailer that I would like to haul on a trip that would take me on I-70 up some steep grades at high elevations.
My trailer is rated at 6,000 GVWR which is about 500lbs off the max tow weight. And my truck is the 2022 Tacoma TRD Off-road.

Would love your feedback if you think the Tacoma can haul this camper or will I be bust trying to get over the mountain with it.

    Thanks!

Consider if you are going to add equipment, food, water, clothing, ect to the trailer as it may add up quickly closer to the tow weight of 6500lbs.

Thank you Kyle_, I’ll make sure the tanks are empty, no water, and this trip we are packing lighter. I’m just a little concerned about the grade and elevation, a practice run may be required

Well make sure you can fill up where you are going before you pack empty. I tow often but haven’t towed with my tacoma so I can’t completely say how it will handle. The v6 should get put to use well and climb the grade. Testing and doing it will help you learn your rig and capabilities of it. They are more capable than we think, however they still have limits. Just practice safety and safe speeds going downhill with all that weight at the end. Hopefully some info that may help https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/show-us-what-you-tow.27460/page-280

just tow what you are comfortable with.
