So I just received my Toyota Care booklet (key ring cards, wallet cards) in the mail yesterday. On the card it says: "Oil type: Conventional" What gives? I thought they ran synthetic in the Tacoma's. So if I want synthetic I guess I am going to have to pay for it.

I agree the Toyota Care is not consistent.
My oil in the Tundra is syn but the maintenance plan says change @ 10K.
I brought it in for the 5k service & the service order said they changed the oil.

If it was as easy as my V6 tacoma was, it would even get done there.

There is an ultimate oil change thread DIY. 30 min tops.

    Ultimate Oil Change

    A 10pk of OEM oil filters was $30 & Mobil 1 5 gal @ WalMart $26.
Guaranteed done right & you can use whatever oil you want whenever you want.
