Has anyone with a super white taco experienced some paint flacking or peeling? Toyota sent out a bulletin to some owns about repairing paint for vehicles equipped with super white paint. My girlfriend got a letter for her corolla this past month but I never received anything.

When I asked the people at the dealership they said to just bring my truck in so they can inspect it. Anyone have any experience with this?

    Letter looked like this

Supposedly super white has no clear coat but I have clear coat peeling on my doors in the corner of the windows, on the exterior.

This what I thought, upon going to my local dealer they said they would still take my taco but needed to inspect it first.

I was hoping someone else has had a similar experience

It’s apparently super white and blizzard pearl colors affecting a wide range of Toyota/Lexus vehicles. My GX is blizzard white but paint looks fantastic. Others have paint coming off in sheets. Google it lol it looks terrible.

Anyway all I saw was they were covering most vehicles only back to like 2008 and only if you meet certain criteria.

I have a SW Tacoma in So Cal and no peeling or flaking. I did experience some rust spots and had that area repainted. There was clear coat on the OG paint job

Wifes 2017 carolla has 2 small places near the hood that have started to peel. Contacted my dealership and was referred to their body shop. Was not on the recall list . Contacted Toyota customer service and haven't heard a word in 3 months. Car only has 19,000 miles on it. Its getting ready to get ugly.

My 2012 TRD Sport Super White looks like it has the same issue but on the beginning phase. Has anyone gotten this fixed at the beginning phases or do I have to run it through the car wash and trash the paint more for them to fix it?

EDIT: my photo is inaccurate I went backwards and took equity out of my truck and got a 2012 after my 2016 haha

No I wouldn't recommend trashing the rest. Just tell your dealer that you have the warranty paint issue and follow instructions from there. Also, make a claim with Toyota headquarters. That can help.

Update : Dealer agreed to fix my wife's paint. However , they didn't bother to call and let me know. So i file another claim with Toyota , and they call me back and say my issue has been settled. Finally they figure out that the repair was authorized, but no one bothered to call me to bring it in. That has now been settled and i will be dropping the car off to be fixed.

Bringing this back to life kinda, dealer wouldn’t honor the program for my taco. All the people I spoke with today weren’t very helpful at all honestly. One told me they would look at it and pull my truck around just to have the next turn me away.

Toyota told me the times I have called said if they had enough complaints they would do something. My 2017 TRD off-road is getting bad. Just got an estimate to fix placed was going to be $1700.

Sorta bringing this back to life, sorry. I was searching to see if anything had come about. My 06' SW has for years had the paint peeling from the hood, doors, under the hood just like the pictures above. Probably nothing I can do or that will be done but I thought it was worth sharing that the problem goes all the way back to 2006.

I looked into wrapping it but that's just as expensive as a repaint if you don't want any paint showing (like $6K to do 3M black multicam in Atlanta). Not to mention if I ever had to peel the wrap off....all my paint would probably come off with it. Yay!

Weird but related? I had a Dodge Dakota bought new in 1996. Color was white and same thing happened. Dealer repainted entire pickup.
