    Hi,

I’m getting ready to install my new SCS Ray 10s and tires on my 17 TRD OR.

I want to purchase a set of TPMS sensors for the Ray 10s. Where is a good place to buy them or am I just wasting my money?

I just want to leave the TPMS sensors on the OR rims and not mess with em’.

Any input will help. Thank you.

Aluminum Wheels than it is so just have them move old sensors to new wheels.

I'm in the same boat. Using a set of winter tires/ on OEM wheels right now but have a set of summer wheels and need TPMS for them. I want my OEM set cloned so that I can swap wheels without any reprogramming. I took the codes off my OEM sensors when I put the winter tires on because I read that you could order a set of the EZ sensors pre-programmed (cloned). I thought these would work but called Tire Rack and Discount Tire both said they don't have one listed for my vehicle.

I'm answering my own questions to you. Go to Rockauto and buy the TPMS sensors for the Aluminum wheels
TOYOTA2017TACOMA3.5L V6WheelTire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor
    $41.89 each

You can only program 1 set at a time

Please elaborate. If you clone your OEM sensors then the truck will read whichever set is one the vehicle and rotating. It would not know there are 8 of the same sensors in existence.

So I can add these to the new rims? Do I need the code prior to going to the tire shop? I want to make sure I’m dialed before installing the rim and tires

Unless you clone your original TPMS you will have to go to the dealer to have your truck programmed to read them every time you switch wheels. Your truck will only read one set of sensors. You can buy the ones mentioned above and have your truck set to read them but your truck will then no longer recognize your original sensors. Make sense? This is why I want to have my OEM sensors cloned, to avoid having to bring my truck to the dealer (or tire shop I guess) every time I switch wheels.

no you don't need the code.
Tire shop should be able to program them when on the truck. I had stellies and went with Alloy wheels and needed the sensors for alloy put in. Firestone did it, now I would'nt say I didn't need to go back once to get the program to stick. Probaly because I had steel wheels in bed when we tried to program. They hooked up to computer and set the codes.
