    Hi everyone,
Since I've put a TRD CAI, my engine has a big loss of power. The speed of the automatic transmission is very slow. When I put back the original air filter and the housing, the problem remains. I've changed MAF sensor and it's stiil the same. The engine makes black smoke, runs bad at idle and the exhaust smells bad.
    Can someone help me.
    Thank you.

Check engine light is on and the MAF sensor is pluging in.

If you have the new style TRD intake you may have melted down your catalytic converters and plugged them up. That will kill power.

The new style TRD intake makes the engine run overly lean. I have tested and verified this on several trucks and get calls all the time from customers and Toyota dealer mechanics trying to solve lean code check engine lights with the new intake.

    Just something to consider.

    Hi,
I have put back the OEM air filter and I still have a check engine light with rotten egg smell from my exhaust and a big loss in engine power. Aind I don't find any leak.
What can I do ? Take the catalyst out (In my country, no smog teste) ? Change them ?
