    Plugged techstream in tonight.
Under the A/C menu, you can manually (active test) the fan output. But I cannot for the life of me see the current fan command status using techstream.... WTF...

Not yet. I’m still waiting for a call from the dealer here in Folsom CA letting me know that all the parts are in. I’ll update when I here from them.

Awesome. Thanks. Did they give you any hassle about doing the TSB?

The only hassle was that they needed to be able to verify that their was an issue, which they did.

How did they do that? Was it over 100 degrees when you brought it In?

No, It was in the upper 90’s but the issue presented itself. The ac system turned itself off and stopped blowing cold air at idle and they said they would perform the TSB. Parts were 30 days on backorder. I’ll be calling tomorrow and asking for an update. It’s been about a month.

So - how in the hell would someone get this TSB done in the winter?? I live south of Houston and MANY times it just didn't blow cool air while idling or slow moving, but now we've started to get cooler air so I think it will be an uphill battle to try to get this TSB need verified. I'm coming up on my 15k service - I'll bring this up plus the strange gronk sound when turning the front wheels and moving over a curb.

Good luck with actually getting them to do the service, but theoretically just 'list off the symptoms', like A/C wont work when it is really hot outside, when idling. If they can't duplicate, because it isnt 100F, they are supposed to do the service.

I almost want to do it myself the way they do it IF tapping into the ecu turns it off at speed . it looks like it should be $50 or so .... $25 for a fan and the rest for a relay and wire... what am i missing ?

The ECUs primary input for the A/C fan(s) is likely the AC high-side pressure sensor. Most cars use that input. In this way the fans do not run when the car is moving and there is enough air flow over the condenser to lower the pressure. You can use the existing fan relay output (ECU controlled) to cascade to your new fans relay input.

Just had this TSB done today. The parts were on backorder for 4 months. I guess we will know if it works any better next summer.

Also had the sagging front bumper on passengers side fixed. The clip kept popping out and looked like shit.

Don't think you are missing anything. Keep in mind we don't know when the ECU decides condenser fan on and off yet..

Factory schematics shown. ECU factory grounds Connector A14 Pin 16 to turn the fan on.

Anyone know how the harmonic wine glass sound coming from the engine bay is related to this?

Not it, no Vader sound, no whistling. A harmonic wine glass sound that comes from the engine bay. Cannot be heard in vehicle, only when the window is down or partially. A slight wine glass wa wa wa, intermittently not present at higher rpms. Audible stationary and moving, intermittently. Didn’t hear it in my ‘16, only ‘17 from day one. 17k miles now, still there. May be unrelated to threads, but sound symptoms pointed me this way. Not drivetrain, definitely coming from engine bay, doesn’t seem like engine, but possibly something attached to that engages the serpentine belt system.

I'm resurrecting this old post... So did it help/fix this issue? I live in Phx and my AC is warm at idle until I've been driving it for ~45 minutes or more.
