I've been doing a lot of searching on this forum and have yet to find enough solid confirmation that these Stainless Brake Lines from Wheelers will work with the early Tundra S13WE calipers without modification to the banjo bolt. I've sent a message to Wheeler's but haven't heard back yet.

I'd love to order these and get this swap underway! Can anyone confirm?

Can also confirm it works. It's been a few years, but I seem to remember having to save parts from the old calipers to use instead of the stuff Wheeler's sent, so don't toss anything till the end.

You can use the Wheelers lines with Tundra brakes (at least with the 13WLs). However, you shouldn't be using the 13WE's, you should be using the 13WL's, which have much more surface area and so significantly better braking.

For a full write-up of the process, along with links to parts I used (including the @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc lines), etc, check out: New-to-me Tires and a Tundra Brake Upgrade

And, for a comparison of the 13WE / 13WL, check out this article: Hard to find Specs, Info & Measurements on 231mm 13WL Tundra Calipers & Rotors

    Happy to answer questions.

Do the 13WLs fit with all the wheels the 13WEs fit on? When I did mine, I specifically ordered the 13WEs as they are slightly smaller and I was worried about clearance using the stock wheels. I couldn't ever find great info on what wheels and calipers all fit together.

What wheels are you running? Any Toyota OEM 16" alloy's will fit the 13WL's just fine as I understand it.

Just remembered I did the calipers prior to mounting these wheels and I wasn't sure of the fitment with the previous one.

Those will fit over the 13WL's just fine.

Yes, those brake lines will fit that tundra brake upgrade. I just did the upgrade this weekend I used those. I also used the callahan calipers for it. They brake super well. Just be sure to be using a torque wrench because I accidentally ripped the head off a banjo bolt while it was inside my caliper.... Not fun to get out. You may also need multiple crush washers on the banjo bolt to get it to not bottom out inside the caliper. I had to use one on one side and two on the other side. If you have any questions just shoot me a pm!

Edit: Also be sure to use a line wrench on your hard line when taking the soft line off. I had to bend a new hard line because mine got stripped and we couldn't torque it down.

Don’t stack crush washers! You may need to shorten the banjo bolt

Really? Why is that? I don't have any leaks with the stacked washers that I've noticed?

Just to be clear. The Callahan kit uses 13WL calipers, so while you and I are in agreement about the Wheelers lines fitting those calipers...it's not technically what the OP asked.

@Jaesunel if you haven't bought the 13WE (199mm) calipers yet, don't and buy the 13WL (231 mm). The only difference for the 13WE than the original tacoma calipers is the rotor is a little thicker. It offers marginal braking performance over stock.

However the 13WL calipers will show a noticeable difference due to the surface area on the pads/rotors that the calipers can grab.

like @turbodb said they work fine. also @penadam those wheels were stock on Tundra/Sequoia so they will fit over the calipers. 17s will give more clearance but you shouldn't have any issues.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I had already purchased the 13WE calipers and rotors from a local pull-a-part yard for $60. My stock passenger side caliper was sticking, so I needed a quick and cheap solution. The tundra rotors are thicker and a larger diameter, so they should cool better than my stock tacoma rotors. I have a pop up camper that I occasionally tow, so the slight improvement in braking will still be appreciated. I now have the wheelers lines and will be doing the driver's side this weekend (did the passenger side last weekend so that I could have a properly functioning caliper and just drilled down he banjo bolt). I'll keep an eye out for 13WL's at the yard that I frequent, it's a pretty easy swap, so maybe I'll do the stage 2 upgrade at a later date :p

    manual swap in progress
I was looking into doing this to my tacoma and I noticed everyone saying to use the 13WL calipers which use a 319mm rotor.

I have a Gx470 that has 13WH calipers that are basically the same but use a 338mm rotor. the ears for mounting the caliper are a little longer for the larger rotor.
I want to say that you need 17" wheels for the 338mm caliper, as the GX comes with 17"s (these larger calipers also came on v8 4runners).

I am running 17" tundra wheels on my GX and my Tacoma, so I am pretty sure they will fit fine but wanted to know if anyone else has tried these.
I'll take all the braking power I can get, the GX has about 1000 lbs on my tacoma so I think it should help alot.

edit* I am also seeing a 14WA from the newer 4runner and gx460.
seems like its the 338mm rotor with a lightly thicker rotor, and a hair bigger pistons.
I would think either of these calipers would offer a little more braking power and looks like someone did do these on a 2nd gen.

from the list of brakes here
