I put a bumper on my 1st gen taco, it does have after market blinkers. When the blinkers are on, they flash rapidly, before they didn't. Has anyone had this problem, and what was done to correct the problem. It is annoying, thanks for the help.

They are working, but they flash too quick and not how they would when the stock blinkers were on.

Are they LED? You might need a resistor

I have had situations like that when the blinkers are blinking fast it indicates one of the 4 bulbs have been burnt out

That's what I was getting at. Sometimes the bulbs they send you are junk...

It's hyperflash. I replaced my bumper about a month ago and had the same problem. I bought bulbs on ebay (LED) that fixed the issue.

This is no endorsement for the quality of these bulbs, but they fix the hyperflash problem. https://www.ebay.com/itm/143556553341

I just did the the turn signal relocation mod, then used a quick splice so I have both the stock turn signal and the LED in the bumper:

Use a LED specific flasher, it will stop the hyper blinking. Mine was an EP35L from a local parts store.

Can you wire them both with the stock bulbs instead of LEDS without issues on current or flashing?
Or do they make a replacement LED that’s the same socket size.

I was thinking of doing the same thing you did but keeping the sock bulbs and wired to the stock location and the side marker location

I need to do this mod. Not because I’m putting an aftermarket bumper on but to make my turn signals more visible in the corner light location.

You can’t see the turn signals on the front bumper if you are orthogonal to me.

    X2,
So can you just splice into the harness and run both sets of lights at the same time?

Or use LEDS on one pair of light as the LEDS use much less current

I’d probably just run LEDs for both lights because I don’t know how much heat those little housings can withstand.

Or if it really doesn’t matter. I dunno.

"add resistor" should be removed from vocabulary. It is cheaper, easier, faster and much more reliable to use LED compatible flasher (some are mentioned above). Whoever came with the idea of resistor should be connected to 110V and left forgotten :D. That goes together with the idea of putting LED bulbs into headlights and then aiming them straight down, so they don't blind oncoming traffic.

I did keep the stock bulbs. I probably would have just left it with just the relocation mod (and no extra LED), but the bumper came with holes for the turn signals, and came with the LED lights, so I just added them with quick splices.

But I'd suspect you'd still need an LED flasher even if you used 2 sets of LEDs.

So I did the blinker mods and kept the original blinker location infront.

I tried using LEDS for all the 6 bulbs and LED EP35 flasher,

BUT the front LEDs would not come on, just the rear LEDS.

I put the stock flasher back in and it works fine with the LEDS in the back
and the stock bulbs in the front with a normal flash.

So going to just run it this way,

4 Incandescent bulbs in the front for turn signals,
    LEDS in the back
    With the stock flasher,

I did notice that if one of the 4 front blinker lights up front was disconnected it did hyper flash to
let you know a bulb was out.
