    I was always told the anti sieze was bad to use on U bolts. :confused:

    Check my 2011 DC TRD with 31,000 miles. Yup they needed attention; they were torqued at approx 35ft. lbs., so increased them to 60 ft.lbs.

    You can always double-nut the ubolts if you're worried about them loosening up.

    Can I just crawl under my truck and torque the nuts or do I have to have the axle free of the ground,that is jacked up? Also is there a torqeing sequence ? Info appreciated!! Thanks

    yeah you can crawl underneath but leave truck on ground so it has the "real world" weight on it & tighten away, don't think theres a sequence seeing how theres only 2 U bolts that are seperated from each other but snug them down evenly...

    When I installed my AP U-bolt flip kit, loosening the stock U-bolts took similar effort as loosening lugnuts. I used a 16" breaker bar. There wasn't any rust in the engaged portion of the U-bolt thread. Mine was NUMMI-built in 2010.

    Good guess that yours were up to snuff then, like I stated earlier in thread, it may not be all Tacomas, its just been every 2nd gen I've done in my region....

    Good deal, I can totally see where U bolts that aren't really as tight as they should be could cause vibs,shudders & exasperate axle wrap

    Out of probably close to 50 Tacomas here that have done my rear spring MOD (resulting in 2.5"-3.5" lift) The only Tacoma that has had any vib issues was mine....:D:eek::) No one else has reported any....(knock on wood) & its been over a year for most..

    So is there any kind of definitive answer on this? Any negatives to this that went up to 73ft lbs?

    I am adding a 1" block next week so I want to torque to the proper spec
