I will let you know how it goes. Calipers are supposed to be in tomorrow. All I know is that once I put on 34" tires stopping the truck got a lot harder, and my pads wore out really quick.

    What you talkin about willis??

Nice job with the Davtron install. I was thinking of adding one but now that I've seen your video, now I don't have to. Not bad for a small heat exchanger.

Someone did a good write up on getting stoptech slotted rotors combined with TRD brake pads as a good alternative to a high dollar bbk kit. I think it was crashnburn
    Edit......found it......

I’ve seen it. This 4runner upgrade will be a lot superior, at a price of course. I think people are freaking out about the cost. Oem parts are not cheap. If you get calipers from napa it’s a pretty budget bigger brake upgrade. Here is the post I followed:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...unner-bbk-upgrade-for-2nd-gen-tacomas.504234/

Also this one, but for older 4runner brakes

I watch it a lot. It's really interesting to see how temps change under different loads. I will also know instantly if my intercooler pump ever goes out.

I was commenting on John’s potting, not the costs of the oversize brakes, lol. I think you have a great idea with that. I’m not a fan of stock brakes!

Oh haha I was confused I was like man it’s one of the most economical bigger brake upgrades when you compare to stoptech and wilwood!

On this note.... would straight water be an issue in the trd blowers cooling system? NOT our radiator... just the cooling system for the blower.
I almost never see freezing temps here, and if so its sporadic for about 2 months out of the year. The antifreeze property is worthless to me.
What in our trd/magnuson system would need any other properties the "antifreeze" carries?

I would run at least a little coolant for corrosion purposes.

    Not arguing.... what would corrode?

Both the intercooler and heat exchanger are aluminum so there *shouldn't* be any corrosion, but you'll sacrifice minimal cooling by having some coolant in it. It will also help prevent organic growth.

If I had those conditions I'd use redline water wetter and distilled water. It cools better than water alone. I used it in my two strokes. Kept pistons from poppin'.

I had good luck with redline products. If you were hesitant call their tech support. I looked it up online because I thought of running it 9months out of the year.
