I was thinking of installing a variable speed wiper switch and was wondering if anyone has done this, and if so what went into the project.

    Any input appreciated.

Just did this to my 08 regular cab. Took about 15 minutes. Used part number 84652-04141. Found it on ebay for $100 new. Very easy to do. 2 screws and a little prying. Works with no problems. I notice a faint "tick" every time wiper engages. Unnoticeable while driving but I did hear it while truck was off. I highly recommend this mod for any base model taco owner. The timed wiper is SO much less annoying to me then full speed wiping with light mist. I might have "zero" patience for stupid things but I feel like this will lower my blood pressure :)

Better you're late to the party than never gettin there I suppose.............not sure if anyone will ever use the keyword "wipper" while searching to benefit from the additional thread tho. Yes, it is a great, cheap mod. Now do your cruise control, it's just as cheap, easy & rewarding.

If it weren't fer typos I'd has no o's at all, lol. I'm lying, the wife keeps that covered. Seriously tho, the cc is about 100.00 of parts if you get them online and is simple good update too. It's just the side cover thing on the wheel, a wire behind the airbag, the stalk & the clutch switch if manual trans. The stalk bolts in behind the airbag on the wheel. The airbag comes off after you disconnect the battery with 2 torx bolts behind the little side covers on each side.
