    Hey guys,

My flash manager only has dropdown options for 2.0 tunes and stock. How do I download 1.05 tunes?

I don't believe 04B80 ever came out with 1.05 tunes.

By the way, if you're 04B80, I recommend updating your ECU to 04B81. Take a look in my signature to find out how.

Interesting. A friend i know prefers the 1.05 tune so that was what I was going to start trying out first - but he has a 2018. Does updating to 04B81 allow me to use 1.05(?) or should I stick with 2.0? What are the benefits to updating to 04B81? I thought i was already on the latest ECU since its a 2020.

I've heard a lot of others like 1.05 as well.
My 2020 came factory with 04B81. Check out this thread here to see how others like it. No, it will not give you access to 1.05.

1.05 was never available for 2020 trucks.

You need to request your tune pack via zendesk for your ecu. Files are not available to download via flash manager.

I just bought the complete package from OVtune, im reading through all the instructions right now to thoroughly understand everything. I understand the process but have a couple questions on the software and tune itself.

Is 1.05 or 2.0 the newest tune file? I assume its 2.0 but just wanna make sure, if someone could refer me to the changelog, it'll be much appreciated.

Should I be using ToyotaFlashManager or the OVTUNE Flash Manager on my computer?

Download vf software it has all you need.

    1.05 is a relic, a stepping stone to 2.0

The 2.0 is the latest. Have you requested the vF tune pack for your ECU ?

If you have it ...... those are the latest tunes for the MT.

The vF software will allow you to make further tweaks as you see fit.

Use vF software to flash ( there is a FM within that platform )

Might want to watch / read this thread. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/vf-tuning-for-manual-transmission-3rd-gens.687939/

I haven't requested it for my ECU yet, I literally just ordered it and emailed them my System ID # for my reg key.

I'm going to download vF software from that link and delete the other flash managers, thanks for the link and advice.

    Thanks for the help.

No problem ...... you will be receiving a Master Key also.

What's your ECU ID ? You'll want to update it if your not on the latest for your '18.

You can do that with TS......

Have you seen this thread ? https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ecu-tsb-update.562550/

No idea on my ECU ID, I tried to get my dealer to update my ECU around a year ago but they said nothing was available for it. I'm hoping it's on the lastest 04A71 already.

Yea, I'm actually reading through that thread right now in case I need to update my ECU. Can you do the TSB with the cable that comes with vF tuner?

The cable and the ODII plug that comes with it.

After you get the vForest S/W loaded ........ consider getting the TS S/W up and running ....... when your
hardware gets to you .... you'll be ready to roll.

If you need the 04A71 upgrade ... TS is the S/W. Can't do it ( yet ) with the vF.

Yes, it's surprisingly easy. I went from 04A70 to 04A71 and then flashed the SuperFOB tune. Takes maybe 1.5 hours, of which the hardest part is getting the software running.

I put the stock tune on the truck for 2 days out of an abundance of caution, because the dealer replaced the fuel pump. I really noticed how slow the truck is from the factory!

Thanks for all the help and advice, I just got TechStream up and running and installed the Tactrix driver while I was at it. I should be ready to go as soon as the package and master/reg keys arrive.
