    ok, lets correct this thread.

i want to know how many miles per gallon i get.

    i have a 6'' lift with 33''tires.

ok, i fill up 16.5 gallons at the pump. thats when the yellow light turns ok.

i get 265mpg then the light turns on. i fill up 16.5 gallons.

how many mpg do i get?? (thats the 1st question)

second question is, how can i improve my gas mialge..WITHOUT REMOVING 6'' LIFT AND TIRES AND REGEARING. (that is the 2nd question)

Alright dude, calm down. I think all the questions have been answered, but here ya go anyways.....
    265mi/16.5 gal= approx 16-16.1mpg
Your larger tires mean you're actually going a tad farther than the odo says, so probably more like 17-17.1mpg

And as for getting better mpgs, these are the options I see:

Now that's an optimistic outlook. You're presuming he made it that far...

    this thread is great!

OP, i learned very early in life (especially with car stuff) there is no such thing as a "free lunch". you lifted your truck, and added bigger aggresive rubber..gas mileage will suffer. unless you do the regear, or get smaller tires..you have little options. maybe drive waaaay slower?

According to the tire size calculator, 33"s are 7% larger than stock (265/75R16 for me. Plug in your original stock tire sizes to get the size difference for yours).

So your odo indicated 265 miles with 16.5 gallons. The odometer is off so you have to multiply it by 1.07 to get the actual miles you travelled. You travelled 283.55 miles (265 * 1.07)/16.5 gallons to fill = 17.2 mpg. Whether that's good or not will depend on how much of that travel is highway miles. If it's mostly highway, it sucks (I get 18 with 33's and a 3" lift in a V6 manual). If it's city, it's about what you'd expect.

The best way to get better mpgs is to go slower and take off slower. Acceleration kills mileage, the slower you creep up on your speed, the less gas you'll use. Keep the RPMs under 2000 if you have an auto or 2200 if you have a manual (2200 on the manual is about 65mph with 33s). Pick up a scangauge or an Aeroforce Interceptor gauge so you can see your useage.

Actually from what I have seen from the Scangauge guys the quicker you get up to speed the better fuel economy.

Physics says no if we're talking about punching it. You'll always use more fuel accelerating quickly than you will slowly. It takes power to overcome the vehicle's mass. If you do it faster, it will take even more power. You may get to a point where your scangauge is indicating higher mpg quicker (because you're letting off the accelerator), but it took more gas to get you to that point at that speed to begin with. It does have to be moderate, because you want to get out of the lower gears, but it's not correct to say that the faster you get up to speed the less fuel you'll use.

Best way to get good mileage?

Roll your truck down a hill and push it up the other side.

There is a mid point between creeping and punching it that results in the best overall economy. You want to quickly get up to speed, but without punching it. Keep the throttle under 50% on a relatively flat road and you should get excellent results. Climbing hills sucks regardless. Scangauge FTW! :D
