What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Milwaukee makes some nice cordless impact drills they have one that goes to to 1400 lbs of torque

 

Installed an ARB bumper, went on a test drive.

 

I’ve got some Makita tools, so will likely stick with them. I was contemplating an impact while I was at home depot today, but decided to wait till I could dig through their models and see what’s what. Think I’ll be keeping the impact in the truck once I get it.

 

Those Milwaukee's can break lugs they're so strong. I've got all Makita and comparatively speaking Makita's are weak.

 

Keep us posted on how you like this. I’ve been looking at that unit. Did you buy the high end one with the wireless CarPlay?

 

So here's pictures from the other days rear suspension change. Mind you this is my beater work truck up in alaska that i drive maybe a month a year (also just got it last year for $3000 bucks with 70k miles on it). But i didn't even bother taking most the bolts out i just cut them all out and then the driverside leaf. The driverside shock was just chillin in there with no top bushing or washer and the passenger side leaf was broken into three pieces, also that shock was completely blown. Swapped in some oe leafs with new shackles and then used my old ome nitrochargers that came off my truck from home when i went LT. so for like $600 bucks i took what was a truck that was falling apart and made it pretty decent again! Now i just need to get the front swapped sometime this week!

 

oh and before anyone says, the blocks where way less sketchy then they look, We put 30k lb boats on them and on this gravel where more stable than any jack stand would be.

Cleaned up sliders and primed and bed lined

Yesterday I finished up valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, cleaning of the MAF and throttle body and reinstalled transmission after replacing the throwout bearing. Next up is to install my Whiteline LCA bushings, replace 2 tires and actually get her back into proper alignment.

 

Clean cylinder head. What oil do you use and change interval? How many miles on the power train?

 

Mobil1 or Honda Ultimate 5w30, she's got just over 278k, oil every 4k miles since birth.

 

Picked up a Softopper last weekend and a roof rack yesterday. Truck looks a lot better now.

 

Put the front mud flaps back on to help eliminate some rock chipping on my sliders

 

Mounted a roof basket on my OEM bars. Didn’t want a longer basket and this one is technically for bars with less between space.

SO, ignore instructions, hacksaw, make stuff fit. Nice and tight now, ready for a couple duffle bags full of sleeping bags and tent next time we head out camping. Putting the lighter stuff up top will free up space in the bed and keep junk out of the cab.

I removed my sliders a couple weeks back to do rust cleaning and re-painting. I get to mount them back tonight finally. Which bed liner did you go with? What brand sliders are those? Looks like it came out nice!

 

You really want to end someones life for smashing up a vehicle? Not sure I could live with the guilt after that. I hope at least you fire some warning shots.
