Found someone with a dark gray camper shell on his double cab long bed to swap with! (I had a silver one on my regular cab). Unfortunately, the new one doesn't fit as well, well neither shells fit well. I can't seem to find anyone with a regular cab in utah looking to sell a camper shell lol. But I'm glad to have a color matched shell.

    All stock, baby!
Big fluids change this weekend. Differentials, transfer case, power steering flush, first of two coolant drains and refills (that driver's side block drain was a PITA). Will have a local transmission shop do the transmission flush, and will do the second drain & refill of the coolant when the thermostat arrives.

Cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body.

Put in a new Pop & Lock PL5400 tailgate lock; had to grind off one of the mounting bolts as it was frozen to the brass insert in the old one.

Inspected the idler pulleys; three out of four making not so good noises. Ordered three OEM pulleys and a replacement bearing for the tensioner.

Finally after 11 years & 175,000 miles I raised it after sagging the springs hauling rock this spring.

    Heavy leaf spring pack - Part# ARBEL112R
    Bushing kit - Part# ARBOMESB108
    OMEU53B UBolt - Part# ARBOMEU53B

Ended up with more than expected. 4” lift in the rear. About 3 years prior when I needed struts I had put in 6112s at setting 1. Bumped that to settings 3/4. Since they had settled already I only gained 1.5”. A bit of rake but I’ll dial it in next strut change. I also already had a Tom Woods driveshaft from a previous catastrophic bearing failure.

Alternator - 1st change. I was noticing a rough idle due to rpm drop when I was in P or at a red light.

Alright, first go around with putting closed cell insulation roll (like the windshield sun shade) on my camper shell ceiling with the 3m spray fell after the heat got to it. Second time was 3m spray and that sticky double sided carpet tape and it held for a while but fell. Going to try and put this construction adhesive and give it a whirl, if it falls in gonna lose my shit :bananadead: Gonna squirt 2 tubes all over and set sandbags to let it cure for a couple days. Wish me luck :laugh:594D2133-F054-4F3F-AC87-669E8BD52BE8.jpg

Took the drive shaft out to do the carrier bearing and u joints. Bearing was shot but all my U joints were replaced at some point because they were all Spicer and greaseable so I replaced one and now I have two spares. Took my SPC UCAs off to grease them after they have been causing some very unpleasant squeaking on trails and after a long drive. And the only thing I got pictures of is I wrapped my tailgate in matte black to protect it from the trasharoo until I get a swing out. Not perfect by any means but looks good from a far. I'll probably redo it in a year or so anyways.

So Monday truck decided to jump around with engine temps (never did overheat but just to play it safe)
Turns out radiator cap was old; then decided just to replace everything (radiator, tstat, water pump all where original factory)
Also changed out the idler pulleys & tensioner

Driving back up to June lake (NorCal) in 2 weeks so I want the truck to run at peak performance especially since we’ll be towing a travel trailer

On today’s episode of “why did I wait so long to do this?”. The ac drain mod. It took less than half an hour and that includes the time it took to pick up the parts from the auto parts store. 5/8” ID hose and a couple of clamps and that’s it. $7 in parts.

Can someone help me out really quick, I was wondering if I am going to replace the thermostat, does it have to be the whole thermostat housing replaced or can I just replace the thermo itself and keep the stock housing?

If you can find this stuff, I've had luck at carpet supply warehouses, it'll glue water to oil I swear. That stuff is ridiculous https://www.amazon.ca/Wolf-Grip-Hi-Temp-Aerosol-Adhesive/dp/B07QY39TWC
