What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

IMO, the lines are to busy with the plastic lines from the original emblem under it. Not bad, but will be better on a satoshi.

 

weathertech driver & passenger over the window thingies (access cab/ didn't do back windows). yesterday i went to the Ford dealer and got a rubber plug for my cigarette lighter hole (don't smoke)

 

Ok here some photos of what i have completed over the last few days. Along with the photos i changed the oil, cleaned air filter and changed my spark plugs.

All this went in except the PIAA lights and locker.

I thought that I would add some pictures to prove that I really did it.



Note, the wires coming out of the remote are simply extending the switch outside the box. The button still works for future troubleshooting (battery, etc). The wires from the remote are tied to the switch side of the relay. The wires from the power side of the relay are soldered to the white (ground) and the solid red (high beam) wires going to the headlight. It is probably easier to splice than to solder at the connector. The relay and the remote are sitting in the battery tray between the battery and the driver's side fender. Been in place now for a month and works great.

Installed Redline hood struts yesterday. Simply followed instructions that came with them for install and they look and work great. For the lower connector, I mounted about a 1/2" closer to the fender screw than called for in the instructions but the mount fit nicely in one of the indents in the fender.

Power washed all the salt off and cleaned the pcv valve.

 

Yes. I am very happy. You just lift the hood a few inches and let it go. Closing is a cinch too. My68ur8 gave me a heads up that they were on sale. They came in about 4 business days.

I bought the Plus so that the mounting hardware is powder coated black. I like the black cylinders so I didn't even consider the extra expense of the Elite.

It is really a quick and easy mod. The hardest for me was the soldering (leads to the remote and leads to the headlight) just because I feel like I need 3 or 4 hands using my 20 year old soldering iron and feeding the solder by hand (maybe I need a gun). The relay was like $5 at AutoZone. I had a coil of wire laying around.

I still find myself reaching for the visor sometimes when I pull into the driveway but flicking the highbeams is a cool way to open the garage door. Cleanest method I have seen.
