Thanks! I really like it as well, I have a feeling I’ll be using that color for other small accents around the truck. We’ll see.

Grad school leaves no time for playing around with my truck :angrygirl:, but I got a few easy things done today.

Mounted the maxtrax using 1/4” x 1” x 12” aluminum stock, since they don’t line up with the front runner slats and I didn’t want to spend $155 for their mount.

Mounted the Hilift jack in the bed with and RCI mount. It will go back on the roof rack next spring after another hellacious Wisconsin salt filled winter.

And finally added a 1 1/4” rubber boot to the firewall so I don’t have to keep stuffing wires through the oem grommet.

What are you using now? Moog, Total Chaos? I'm leaning towards new OEM arms (because of the ball joint) and installing Energy Suspension bushings into them.
I'd probably have to get alignment cams also but I haven't checked if they are frozen or not.

Did this today because I came out to my truck to find that some jerk tried to syphon my gas. I ordered a locking gas cap and a gasshole because the new cap does not have a leash.

The door clamp had the Stingiest screw. Had to drill it out and find a replacement which was annoying. When I thought I was finished... I wasn't... The new locking gas cap didn't fit in the gasshole. So I whipped out the Dremel and handled business. Fits snug and secure. Hopefully they were trying to pull out gas and not put something in.

I went Dorman because of availability and I had heard that Moog is not what they used to be.

I've heard that at least on the 2nd gen, there is a screen that prevents a hose from getting down into the tank to prevent someone from being able to siphon gas out. I've also heard you can use a smaller diameter tube though, so I think it's more like a grate than a screen. Never seen it though...only heard about it.

Yesterday morning I decided to start my speaker upgrade with the rear doors. Installed Stinger Roadkill sound dampening material and Rockford Fosgate R165x3 6.5". One sheet of 18x32 material was perfect for each rear door.

It's been said a lot, but the factory speakers are absolutely pathetic and I could tell right off it was a good upgrade. I have the Subaru tweeters for the front and Rockford 6x9s to do this weekend.

Thanks to @boogie3478 for the great install vid!

Remembered at the end I forgot to take pics, but here's a couple.

Nice! You'll love the new front door speakers and tweeters as well.

I’ve thought about swapping my speakers out as well but is there really that much of a benefit over stock? I also have a 2015 DCSB OR and I feel like the speakers are actually fairly decent for stock. I’m wondering if I may have somehow gotten an upgraded setup without knowing about it when I bought the truck. Seems like they are pretty clear and have decent low end... IDK just thinking out loud

People knock on the factory speakers a lot. Yes, they have a paper cone and small magnet, but they are incredibly efficient. I "upgraded" to a decent looking set of basic Kenwood speakers and could not tell one bit of improvement over the factory ones.

Even had @ItalynStylion tune them and still couldn't tell a difference. They came back out and went back to BestBuy. I'll eventually upgrade to a nice set of component speakers, but if you want a good sound improvement in your truck, start with either the head unit or sound deadening mats.

You could pop the door panel off and see if the upgrade JBLs are there. I was fine with my factory door speakers and just decided to swap them out for a name brand since they were reasonably priced and the difference is pretty substantial even when not running an amp to the new speakers.

Removed the white paint on the "4x4" mudflaps. Figured it was wearing off anyway plus I like the all black look. Like everything on my Tacoma, it's the subtle things that make people say "there is something different, just can't put a finger on it."

I am so glad you posted this- mine has been cranking longer and longer. Unnoticed a few days ago that the wire connecting this is exposed/ frayed. I had no idea what it was and have been meaning to look it up. How much did the new resistor run you?

50,000,000% upgrade by only replacing the speakers. They're the only OEM part you can feel good about punting into the nearest landfill. I could turn my volume up to max and still have a convo without lifting my voice. Ridiculous.
