I leave for work at 5:30am and drive up the interstate a bit, the big rigs are crazy bright but they don’t have to stick to the same regulations as passenger and light truck vehicles like us (I guess cause it takes a million miles to stop one at 75mph). Most of those are coming from the factory that way

I replaced my starter because it was making a different noise intermittently on some starts than it normally does. So i decided to change it today while it was still my choice and not because the truck didn't start when i needed it.

I got a denso brand from rock auto and did it all in an hour and a half but wasn't the most easy job.

Some notes if you decide to do it...
    -disconnect batt

-pull the drivers front tire off and disconnect the steering shaft collar connecting the upper and lower shafts [lock steering wheel before disconnect and mark what splines the collar sits on]

-Having ratcheting wrenches would have be super helpful

-Optional to pull the exhaust manifold for easier access to the bolts

    -unbolt brake line from frame

    -take rear skid plate off

I found some helpful youtube videos that explained everything really clear. The hardest part is the upper bolt that holds the starter to the bell housing - not much room at all.

I hear you, it’s fucking stupid and inconsiderate against other drivers. I always work late so driving home I get go up against lifted trucks/SUVs with HIDs in stocks illuminating my retinas. I block their lights with my middle finger

I was at my wife's works Christmas party tonight. Dave and Buster's San Diego. I saw a couple of somewhat unique 2nd gens (IMO).

I don't recall seeing this color before
    20191206_182729.jpg

and I definitely hadn't seen this model before (Texas Edition)

Got to have a plug socket!! It would be a real pain without one, as deep as the plugs are in the engine.
I am in the same boat with a 6 year old battery. I plan to run the Northstar as well, I’ve heard good things about it. 5 year warranty!

First things to go are the front flaps on any yota that goes wheeling.
First time I`ve heard of them being modded at the mall lol
Leave em off, they`re just gonna get ripped off again.

Just saw a tacoma the other day, the guy was running semi truck mudflaps on the back. Had mixed feelings about that one it looked cool but not at the same time.

Yeah, kind of attached to mine.

When the rubber wore out years ago I went to the hardware store and got a rubber grommet thingy for passing wire thru a firewall to hold the plug tops and stuffed that up inside with a coupe dabs of superglue to make sure it stayed and also used a punch to put a couple divots in the top so the extension has to be tapped in instead of trusting tape.
Just put it in the vice and give it a good pull&wobble when I`m done and the extension comes right out.

Man I`ve had that thing a lonnnnnng time.
I know it`s just a spark plug socket but it`s so shiny!
    My precious

Yeah my toyota battery kept on going, I just didn’t want it to fail when I’m out in the mountains
You might want to check out a bit longer battery hold down from - off the grid engineering
