Hahaha ya I told him about his turn signals lol a lot of money and time into that truck to just leave his lights hanging from a zip tie lol his setup is pretty bad ass and has super trapp exhaust which I have never seen on anything besides a quad or a enduro

I've passed that black double cab posted above at least a dozen times. Does he live or use to work around the Ballard area of North Seattle?

Sick truck, always a little jealous when I pass him.

Also, check Austen's build page for all his specs. His build page is very detailed.

I didn't read the whole thing but it sounded like he had ordered the wrong parts or something cause everyone was sayin the 4wd kit doesn't look like that but I don't know I'll make sure to research a lot before I type in the credit card haha

yea what happened was he bought a shock too big for his kit and it was the wrong kind... since your a 4wd you'll need cone shaped shocks. look at this build: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-builds/138220-jasons-long-travel-toy-taco.html

he has an 04 4x4 taco as well

Oh ok ya his truck is badass that's the front end that I want minus the rear cause I still need to be able to put dirt bikes in the back and haul trailers do I need a different setup in the back but I need it to still be able to flex. The rear end how it is is horrible truck starts to tip over once it flexes at all

alot of metal, small engine, decent travel.
caged, camburg long travel, 50t leafpack (soon to be installed) light rack over cab, 5pt harnesses etc
you can do it cheaper than 5k in the front end, but if you want a bypass and air bumps your looking at more.

well the shock i have is 1 5/8s too long because i was supposed to get the short body 8inch stroke shock and camburg told me other wise when i bought my shocks. the 8 inch coil over is supposed to have the cone lower mount on it so i need to get that. but the coil over that im putting on it right now has the lower cone mount and will fit in the stock coil bucket, i need to get it moved to a shop that can fab up shock hoops for me. so the shocks that im trying to put on it to move it should fit in theory. but shit is bent somewhere the axel is still rubbing even with the cone mount. so i think i need to cut off the lower tabs for the shock mount and move it forward a 1/4 inch.

honestly if you buy the shit new and not used, and you havent abused your truck the install should take you a weekend. i bought my kit from a truck that was sitting in a back yard for 4 years and its the first style kit camburg has came out with and it was beat on pretty good.

if you call camburg directly and order the kit and shocks i think its about 3100 with out discount to your door. install it your self...

then you will need tundra 1st gen axels to make the 4wd work in your truck which is like a hundred or 2, you should gusset your spindles (50 bucks)
then if you want to be baller you can get air bumps (400) and a bypass(1000?) and thats a killer set up. some other gusseting can be done.

you can make a nice rear end with a expo leaf pack with your shocks angeled in and get some good ass travel out of it

you cant lift our trucks higher than 3 inches unless you use a body lift because the axels cant handle that.

4in-35s works for me. I like you wheeled jeeps before i miss the long arm travel. But im very happy with 15.5mpg versus 12mpg on 35s. youll have to tub the firewall to run 35s not hard just time consuming but well worth it. I run saw 2.0s up front, stock leafs plus 1.5in aal and 1.5 shackle rear with 1in body lift. I still rub here and there but i can live with it.
