return is always an option. I can get you a Timken bearing and seal for the rear for less than that. it's a bolt on design as well, but involves removing the axle and backing plate.

Hey Kevin what are symptoms of a front wheel bearing going out?? My passenger side wheel bearing has no wobble or grinding. But the wheel bearing is lot more free flowing than the one i bought from you a month ago. Does that mean it is going out?

    Fyi

never replaced my passenger side wheel bearing has 130k on it.

Are the front assemblies side specific?

    Thanks Manwithoutaplan.

    One more clarification needed:

In the article Kevin Links to "DIY Hub Swap" after the hub assembly is removed, there is a photo labelled "This is what you're left with" and then after the photo: "thats your bearing, which HAS to be pressed in, i haven't see a hub assemble *yet* that would make this much easier"

This bearing is part of the assembly you are selling Kevin, correct?

I haven't yet taken things apart this far so trying to make sure I have this picture straight in my head first.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Kevin's hubs come pre-assembled so there is no need to press the bearing in. He does that part.

I'm just going to quote our PM from earlier as a reference for everyone else.

Typically the bearing will make a grinding noise when spinning by hand, or have some play in it. We just did my buddy Brian's LF bearing which didn't have the typical symptoms. It didn't make much noise but would howl a little bit at speed & go away when unloading/loading each side. there wasn't excessive play in it but was very loose when spinning by hand with the rotor removed.

After we removed the assembly from the truck we could smell how badly burnt the bearing was. The inner spindle, cv dust seal was damaged which is what we figured lead to the worn bearing.

Like Ryan said the hubs are not side specific. The write up was done before I started building these bolt on assemblies. It definitely makes the job easier & saves you some money.

I'd love to make it out there!

I'd have to bring the shop on the trails so I don't fall behind on orders :p
