Mods: Is this still a Tacoma?
Hi all, any suggestions on where to mount without getting in the way of the TSS/Radar's effectiveness? I reads this thread ( https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trd-pro-grill-with-front-camera.524832/ ) that shows it on a PRO grill with the honeycomb trap door, but haven't been able to see any ideas on the same grill with the plexi radiator garnish...trying to get maximum field of view, centered, and inconspicuous mounting location as to not standout as an eye sore, keep symmetry, and get excellent view...I really loved the location of the mounting location in the said thread above, but worry about the radar being affected, or even more so, introducing noise into the camera feedback signal...thoughts? Pictures of those who have braved this already? Thanks!

Not a Taco, and not answering your question, but I used a Boyo HD license plate cam for the front of my ram. When I did it (3yrs ago), I bought one of the best ones they had, and even that wasn't a ton of $. True or mirror and parking lines/no parking lines switch sold me on theirs. After three years, and some serious abuse, the cam still works great and very glad I went that route instead of the other options available (grill mounting, for example). I plan to do the same with the Taco (if it ever gets here). Hope that helps. Oh, it's still available: https://www.amazon.com/Bar-Type-License-Plate-Camera-VTL420HD/dp/B00F4PUQIC

I installed my Alpine camera today and unfortunately it’s causing the TSS pre collision to disable itself and tells me to clean the sensor. I’m going to have to figure out where else I can put it.

5100 set to max, pending LSD and TRD CAI
Perhaps try a different more stream line camera. I have mine in the same location and I’m am not experiencing any issues.

I think I’m going to cut a hole and bring the camera more into the grille. I prefer this camera as the quality is better than anything I’ve seen and it has 4 views I can toggle through on my Halo 9 head unit.

Dead center. Blocks the radar slightly, doesn’t have any noticeable effect on the radar. As you can see I don’t even run a garnish and my sensor works flawlessly.

    Camera is nakita

Been in snow and rain no problems.

No idea what the point of the garnish is but its a rip off. 38A8A2C5-80DF-41BB-9205-B535EC0B7346.jpg
