You aren't going to get there with that budget, unless you source used parts and perform the housing opening and retrofit yourself

Here is a good thread on a member that can do it, base $900 with your headlights shipped, $1500 if you want fresh housings

Retrofit and BHLM Headlights | Tacoma World

EDIT - above info is for HID projector retrofit.

Post below looks like a re-based bulb for the halogen projector, so can't comment on that, but doesn't seem to be recommended in the lighting thread, as the uplight would be over-bright. See there for more details.

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly, read your post again. if you're asking about an effective and broad field of view with a correct spread and angling of the beams, yes these have it. they are great and very bright. look through that thread.

i don't know those are even available any longer, but my point is reporting that both performance AND reliability are spot-on, which is why I'm posting here. dead reliable after over 4 years of use.

by the way, i posted the wrong thread. there are two of them, this is the right one with all the user experience: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hyluxtek-hid-kit-with-cnlight-ball-bulbs.457461/

Honestly, I was very happy with the DDM 35w kit thats under $100. Though you need to put grease in the plugs, they say they are water tight, but they are not.

before you post that is non-sense. I said $900 for a full retrofit (opening the housing, proper HID projectors, ballasts, etc), NOT a drop in kit.

    I know reading is hard

Is a drop in kit still good? Will be running stock 2017 headlight shells

NO! Drop in kits in a halogen housing without a proper projector with throw light everywhere and make you the asshole on the road blinding everybody.

HIDs are an all or nothing affair. Either do a proper retrofit or don't do it at all.

Looking back at my email I spent $400 on my retrofit buying all the parts during the retrofitsource's black friday sale. Retail would have been about $550. That was with some extra bells and whistles like dual halos which you could skip to save a few bucks. That was just for parts and then I did all the work myself.

    agree with plurpimpin.
other posters in this thread seem to like their drop-in's, which I have no experience with, but my understanding is this is not recommended.
as per my other post, this is due to the uplight built into our halogen projectors. HIDs are well, bright, and will intensify the uplight leading to glare. To overcome this, a proper HID designed projector housing (like RX350) retrofitted into an headlight assembly, which can only be done by cracking open the assembly.
Thus the budget comment. $900 to have someone do that
