Can anyone give an example of comparing the fuel costs of Tacoma and Tundra?

G59, although I'm not a student, it seems to me that I will also. Although I draw conclusions based on talks with my friends.

Just switched from a Tacoma to a tundra. I wouldn't consider it an upgrade, because I love the Tacoma also. Coming from an f250 I thought I could downsize , but I need the room in the bed , I thought i could get by using a trailer to carry sheet goods , but isnt working out. Hate to see it go.

Came from an 08 4x4 DC Tundra to my 2019 4x4 AC Tacoma. I was averaging around 13 mpg with the Tundra and the Tacoma is sitting at 18 mpg.

I haven't had a chance to drive it much. But avg is sitting at 15 mpg on the tundra. Although the taco got better mpg, I wasn't overall pleased with the avg on the taco mpgs. I would avg 18 to 19 on a tank . The only negative right now seems to be the fuel consumption. Now I dont have to make as many trips to the lumber yard so it may even out on $$

Tundra's a great truck, especially in the next couple of years when Toyota remembers to give it some love, but I prefer my Taco. 2 people, 2 big dogs, water for 2 weeks, all the camping gear I'd need, and room to get down a small fishing trail that a Tundra just wouldn't make.

You make a great point. Deciding between a Tundra and Tacoma is lifestyle decision. If the smaller Tacoma fits your lifestyle (such as examples you mentioned), then thats the best vehicle. If the larger Tundra fits your lifestyle (towing, size for 4 adults, hauling etc.) then get a tundra. If you get the truck that fits you, then you'll never make the wrong decision.

My 4 and 7 yr old girls aren't getting smaller. Had a loaner 2019 Taco. Wasn't impressed with the newer design. Family test drove Tundra....nice space in the cabin. Autoclimate control would be nice as well.

Dang! No significant changes for the 2021 Tundra. Another delay for an ancient design. Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise due to the eminent global recession.

I can’t believe anyone would waste money on a tundra. 14 years of basically no real changes. Lmao

A new Tundra isn't a bad investment. It's probably more reliable than most of the newer alternatives from other truck manufacturers. That's what matters most.

Same reason you wasted yours on a Tacoma. Lmfao
Reliability, that why I wasted my money on a 2018 two years ago.

My Tacoma was a POS. Which is why I don’t have one anymore. Spent more time in the shop than my ford and Chevy.

Why not buy one from 2007? Same truck?
