Hi! Just wandered through this site looking for a great set of tires for my 95 tacoma. I have owned this truck for 18 years and did not join any forums until now. Thanks.

Usually, tire threads will consist of people persuading you to buy the same tire they purchased.

The best thing to do is narrow it down based on need and read reviews from tirerack or discounttire.com to make your decision.

    Good luck and welcome.

Tons of variables. Is this your daily driver or weekend warrior? Do you do mostly highway driving? I dont think seattle gets much snow do you? Do you want something thats going to last, or something that might not last as long but has much better offroad traction? Are looks important?
    My opinion.
Srictly mud terrain, I woulds say BFG KM2. Great mud tires, and decent tread life, I got 50k on mine on my diesel.
Aggressive AT, I had decent luck with a set of cooper st tires, good traction, fairly quiet, only got about 35k on them.
Alot of ppl here realy like the goodyear wrangler dutratracs. I knew a guy who ran them and liked them, but I have no experience with them.
AT, I have about 500 miles on a set of the new toyo at II, so far so good.
Ive ran BFG AT, and didn't really care for them.
Highway tire, Michelin LTX A/S. Smooth, quiet, and long lasting. My dad just got 78k miles on a set that were on his 4d long bed diesel w/manual trans. And he tows quite a bit. Theyre not cheap, but they're a great tire.
    Hope this helps.

 Welcome to TW from Ferntucky.
Like Rob said most will recommend what they have but some will tell you not to make the same mistake they did (I like what I got)
Questions on a particular subject are best answered in the proper forum & a lot of them have already been asked. Check the Stickies at the start of forums for good info on frequently asked questions. Also the more info you give us the better the answers are. What are you looking for in a tire? How will you use it on road, off road or both? :notsure:

Thanks for the warm welcome! The info's and recommendations are greatly appreciated. I went to Discount Tire last night just to get a price qoute and physically check tires that they have in stock. The sales rep (Mike) gave me a deal I could not refuse. I walked out with a set of Yokohama Geolandar A/T S. Looks really good on my truck and it handles smooth so far driving it from the store to home. I will post updates on performance when I get at least 5000 miles. Thanks again!!

    That is a clean 95!

I have heard many good things on the Geolanders. I am sure they will be good for you.

Thats funny I was just about to post the same thing on here. Was just looking at these as well. Would be a great addition for a spare full set to have just for off roading.
